"Not everything is solved with violence.."

The prominent trait this she-cat holds is kindness. She is very warm natured and has a nurturing personality. Honey Freckle cares deeply for her family, friends, and tribe-mates. Even strangers aren't totally out of the loop. She rarely turns away any that needs some sort of assistance. She's the type of cat to go out of her way to take care of others and make them happy. At the same time, she is also responsible. If a situation is tough or her tribe is at risk she has the sensibility to do what is right. She always keeps her clan in the forefront of her mind, as any sensible leader should. Honey Freckle wants Tribe of Reflecting Ripples to not only be stable but flourish as well. She is also a fairly quiet and reserved cat most of the time. She believe in being polite and having good mannerisms.

Despite being a gentle cat there's a lot of mental negativity, though it's rarely shown outright. If one pays enough attention, however, it's easy to see her insecurities play out through her actions. The constant bullying at a young age has left her with plenty of insecurities, doubt, and anxieties. The she-cat does her best to put up a front and appear strong, but inwardly almost always second guesses herself. Her confidence and collectivity is a very well placed facade she's built up over the years. She holds this well, but if pushed to the brink she'll more than likely crack under pressure.

By nature she is a pacifist. Honey Freckle prefers to tend to conflicts with a diplomatic approach. She'd much rather settle things verbally and come to agreements. This overseer is definitely not a fighter. She feels violence isn't the answer to every problem and leads to unneeded bloodshed and loss. Honey Freckle doesn't like seeing others in pain and avoids combat at all costs. Do not underestimate her, however. If it's unavoidable she'll be the first to charge into battle to save her family, friends, and tribe-mates. She'd be anxious and fearful inside but would hold strong for her clan's and family's well-being. Honeystar's biggest downfall is when she's faced with loss. She loves others so deeply that losing someone close absolutely shatters her. She's unable to healthily cope and recover by herself. If left to her own devices and thoughts, she'd mentally break down. It's almost vital for her to have someone to cling to. She needs the support of others or may very well slip into a deep, unhealthy depression until she's dragged out of it by support or worse.

The Beginning

Honey was born within the warm nursery in the Tribe of Reflecting Ripples to Dapple Petal and Bat Screech. She was one out of two of the litter, but her brother died shortly after from weakness. From the moment she opened her eyes the kit felt different. She was different though. Her eyes were crossed and she was often teased by her den-mates. Dapple Tail did her best to shield her daughter, but it did little good once she became a trainee and left the safety of her mother's side. The taunting outcasted the young trainee. She became withdrawn and developed anxiety issues. Though socially backward and self-conscious, Honey was a swift learner. Her eyes would not hinder her skills, but her anxieties would. It took a great deal of coaxing from her mentor, Thorn Tail, for her to trust him. Once the bi-color tabby was comfortable with her mentor she excelled with lessons. She was especially adept and hunting. Honey had her elemental dream a little earlier than her peers. Upon receiving her gift it acted as a crutch for her socializing issues. It gave her the final nudge to receive her full name and be successful.

Her mother had come to find another tom. Dapple Petal had another litter but of only one kit. She was named Doe. Honey Freckle often visited her half-sister. The two grew to become very close despite their age differences. Honey Freckle always kept a protective eye on her sister. Despite being successful as an artisan, the she-cat's social life was non-existent. She was still harboring plenty of self-loathing. It wasn't until a tom named Willow Moss befriended her did Honey Freckle truly start to creep out from her reclusiveness. Her friend helped her easier cope with her anxiety. He offered her support and reassurance. Honeyberry in return would always have an ear to listen or shoulder to cry on when the tom was down in his luck. The two relied on each other and grew to have a sibling-like bond.

Becoming Leader

As she was finally coming around and making friends the regent of the tribe passed away. Most of the senior guardians and artisans were nearing gray-fur age. The pool of cats were all a little too young. Honey Freckle herself had only just received her first trainee, Ember. For reasons still uncertain to the she-cat today, she was chosen to take the role. It took some getting accustomed to, but she handled her knew regent role well enough. There were some minor slip-ups, but nothing worth too much of a fuss.

Only a year into her duties did a plague of green-cough grip the tribe. It claimed the lives of many of her tribe-mates. Losing members of the tribe was bad in itself, but when Tide Claw caught the illness himself it was worrisome. The older Overseer only had two essences left. Due to his age and stubbornness of not wanting to rest properly, he struggled with the illness for a long time. It claimed both of his lives and Honey Freckle was thrust all too suddenly into the role of leadership. She named her close companion, Willow Moss as regent. The two worked together great. They helped each other as they always had. Honey Freckle did her best as a Overseer, but being so young it was a rather rocky start. It took a great deal for her to gain respect from her tribe-mates.

Loss

Things were looking well for the tribe finally. The Tribe of Reflecting Ripples was prospering well under Honey Freckle's leadership. There were fewer quarrels with the other tribes and it was a tranquil time. Sadly despite the peace, Willow Moss had an accident while fishing. He was partially crushed under a rotten log and later died from his injuries despite the shaman's best efforts. Honey Freckle was distraught and mourned the loss of her first friend. Somberly she named Owl Glide as the next regent. She put on a brave face for her clan and things continued as normal.

Seasons later a kit was found abandoned by a loner on Tribe of Reflecting Ripples territory. Honey Freckle took her in as her own and with assistance from one of the nursing queens she, Shell, thrived. She had always wanted kits and fussed over the kit as if she were her own blood. She was her kit and loved her dearly. She was days away from being made a trainee when Shell was grabbed by a hawk. In her panic to save her daughter, Honey Freckle threw a ball of water at it. The avian dropped the kit but was at too high of a distance. After landing on and sliding down the cliffs of the ravine, Shell was gravely wounded. Despite Doe Step's best efforts as a healer, the young one passed away. Part of Honey Freckle died that day. She spent moons in mourning for her daugther. Thanks to the support of her friends she was able to pull out of it.

During Leaf-Bare her deputy, Owlglide was injured in battle. She had no choice but to name a new one. She had grown close with Owlglide, however, and felt guilty for replacing him, but did it for the sake of RippleClan. Koisong became the new deputy, but this would only last for a few moons. For whatever reason, the tom vanished. No one knew what happened to him, but some said he just up and left. The leader felt betrayed and disappointed. Above all else, she was ashamed that she had made the wrong choice. With a prayer to StarClan she announced Whisperrose as her new deputy. Honeystar hoped for once RippleClan would have a steady deputy for seasons to come.

New Start

During all of her struggles, one tom had always been there, Cloudsong. He seemed to be the constant in her ever-shifting the world. The two were out on a patrol during the start of New-Leaf. It'd been raining for many days and the river was raging. Honeystar got too close to the bank hoping to check to see if the Great Blossom was fine. The ground fell away and she was swept into the current. Honeystar tried to use her element to swim to safety but ended up using up her energy. The water was too quick and she succumbed. She lost her first life that day. The she-cat would've lost more if it were not for Cloudsong. He jumped in, hurting his paw in the process of dragging her to the shore.

The days they spent recovering in the medicine cat's den made them closer. It didn't take anyone in the clan long to catch on that the two had eventually become mates. They were practically joined together at the hip from that moment on. In the following moon, Honeystar gave birth to his kits, naming them Minnowkit, Fernkit, Splashkit, and Mistkit. She dotted on her kits and kept them close, never straying too far. Though her leadsership duties for a time suffered, she made it work. She was a protective caring mother, spending her days teaching her kits right from wrong. Despite Splashkit being deaf she did her best to teach her and the siblings to communicate with her. The days in the nursery were full of contentment and the leader watched her darlings grow into apprentices.

The she-cat gently nudged her son, Mistpaw, into the life of a medicine cat. She watched as all of her kits began to grow and even begin to get their elemental gifts. What the mother did not foresee was the constant bickering between Minnowpaw and Mistpaw growing as it had. One day the two fought and despite being scolded and confined to camp by their mother they went out with Oakpaw and Otterpaw. Her son and apprentice fell into the river nearly drowning, but Oakpaw was there to help them. Minnowpaw, however, began to tease her brother and after a retort from him, she lunged wounding him up badly.

Owlglide and Cloudsong stumbled upon the scene and were able to break it up. Upon rushing the apprentices back to camp Honeystar saw her son bloodied and unconscious and had a mental break down. Her mental state began to crack, triggered by memories of her dead adoptive daughter. After learning about what truly happened she confronted Minnowpaw, driving a wedge between their relationship. This pained the she-cat greatly, bringing up feelings of self-blame for the situation. She desperately hoped to rekindle the bond with her daughter one day.

Things Always Change

Things in the clan began to settle as much as they possibly good. Outside of the clan, however tensions were high. Right on the cusp of her kits being warriors, loss struck the clan. Morningdrop a young medicine cat and Owlglide were murdered weeks apart by CinderClan. The loss shook the clan. It's was now that things began to change in the leader. Faced with a danger to her clan and family she ordered precautions to be taken. Despite the chaos her kits, now fully grown, were made into warriors. Their given names were Minnowlily, Splashberry, Mistshadow and Fernheart. The mother could not be more proud, but the happy occasion was marred by tne darkness brought on by CinderClan's threats.

Vowing to get answers and keep her clan safe the following gathering would prove to be one that would go down in history for many generations. During the gathering it was brought forth that the murderers of Owlglide had been Badgerheart and CinderClan's own deputy Darkstream. Upon learning this Honeystar lunged down upon Darkstream and the two began to fight. Rather intentionally the CinderClan cat set the Great Blossom ablaze before being chased away. Angered by the chaos StarClan struck down a a storm. A single lightning bolt hit the tree which broke the branch the other leaders had been resting on causing them to fall and each loose a life aside from Berrystar who Hawkstar had pushed out of the way of landing on a rock.

That night Honeystar too lost a life from smoke inhalation and as the fires settled the clan's sacred tree was no more than a blackened husk. The she-cat was wrought with guilt for some time over the incident, blaming the leader's deaths and fire on her own crass actions. In due time something inside the leader would change, the guilt being replaced with a determined need to keep her family safe.
