About
Constantly using humor as a defense mechanism, Advik considers himself a failure in the highest of compliments. He may come across as mean, but that's largely due to him resorting to the snappiest comment that first comes to his mind. Okay, maybe that is a little mean.
•
Advik still feels like he's navigating the world, despite there being a set life path designed for him. They often feel like they're torn between doing everything and nothing, describing the feeling as drinking coffee and benadryl at the same time.
•
Advik's always bad with eye contact, but their eyes will shift towards the nearest exit when nervous. They’re stubborn about only using expensive art supplies, but will be quick to trash them. Advik has lit a sketchbook on fire out of impulse. They give commentary while watching movies, to everyone’s annoyance. Advik will look up the entire synopsis to a movie before seeing it.

Story
backstory
Advik is a clone of a renowned geneticist that left a great deal of responsibility to Advik when he passed. [The Ellocast Project]. Advik was not made aware of this responsibility originally, as his original's son, Rajan, hated Advik. Aalthough Rajan was a surrogate father to them, he didn't treat Advik well and kept him in the shadows as much as possible. This paired with the predetermined fate of working for the Ellocast Project for the rest of their life have Advik a childhood filled with nervousness and anger. Oh well, they at least had their friend Echo, another clone of a scientist, someone to relate to and eventually be mentored by.
Things only changed for Advik when he was finally able to gain more knowledge on the project, starting with an introduction of it's prized subject. The uncanniness of the man and the overwhelming information caused Advik to denounce his inheritance, curse the project, and escape his responsibilities. They moved to a small village on the outskirts of Evelow, hoping to forget what they ever saw.
current story
In the hopes of avoiding his past, Advik makes sure he is constantly doing something, whether preoccupying himself in his new art classes at the University or befriending the new witchy roommate of his. He refuses to talk about what he knew, and therefore doesn't like to talk to those he used to be close with. The new friends Advik made cause enough mayhem to distract him.
Things are going well until about a year into their new life in which they get an urgent call from their old colleague Echo. Advik is to make amends with Sean, however, this is deemed difficult since Sean not only doesn't want to forgive Advik for his words, but finds it fun to taunt him.
what's to come
Between returning to downtown Evelow and the expectation to face the responsibilities left by dead creators, Advik tries harder to keep his friends as they are the best people in his life. With them in their own conflicts and Advik in his, he fears for a collapse in both their society and his personal life.

Both feeling like fish out of water, Audrey and Advik form a bond as they try to navigate their new lives together. Audrey doesn't ask about his past, and he doesn't ask about hers. While vulnerability is good for a friendship, the fact they don't expect that of each other builds a trusting foundation.
