Boingo

Past -
Boingo was born to his parents Argon and Centauri on a small desert planet populated with a handful of novakid settlements. Not long after he was born, Centauri fled the planet after being caught helping a group of notorious smugglers. Although she managed to keep in contact with her family for a short time, the transmissions slowly stopped coming. Under pressure from the planet's head sheriff and unwilling to share any information about Centauri, Argon packed up and moved their small farm to Earth. With everything being shaken up so much in such a short time, Boingo does not have many solid memories of his life before moving. Crowded spaceports still make him a little anxious.
Eventually, Boingo applied to live and study at the Protectorate academy. When it was destroyed alongside Earth by The Ruin, it took him a while to work up the will to fix his new ship and face the world again. But once they got back on their feet, they met Esther at the Ark and began their journey to put a stop to The Ruin.

Present -
After The Ruin's defeat, and some much-needed rest, the crew spends most of their time exploring new planets, helping people out, and going after the remains of the Occasus cult. Aside from the occasional close call, things are pretty good. After a while a couple crewmates leave or retire, but Boingo manages to keep in touch with them.

Future -
Unfortunately, having a lifespan that can last hundreds of years doesn't work out when you have a deep fear of losing people you love. If a crew member didn't leave of their own accord, Boingo would often watch them grow old or get killed. After their last remaining crewmate died while the two of them were investigating an anomaly, they retreated into the empty reaches of the universe, far from reminders of their life or people they knew.
During this time, Boingo took up bounty hunting (seperately from the Peacekeepers). The final mission they took was to track down a novakid outlaw who was notorious in the local systems for dodging peacekeepers and independent hunters alike. To his shock, this target turned out to be none other than Centauri, Boingo's long-missing parent. Although he was unwilling to turn them in, he was initially very angry with Centauri for leaving Argon behind and going radio silent. But, at the same time, he was happy to see that she was even alive.

Not long after meeting Centauri, Ethoxy and Flint reached out to the two of them, as they hadn't heard from Boingo in quite a while. The group met up on an old Hylotl planet that Boingo used to frequent, and caught up with each-other's lives. While he doesn't do much travelling or adventuring at this point, Boingo looks back on his time with the Protectorate and his crew fondly, and is a little less afraid of being alone.
