Profile

Bautista's early life was more than a little chaotic of course most of it he had no memory of. Born to a loving family, Maxx's father died thanks to a terminal illness, and his mother found herself struggling. Taking the both of them in was Maxx's grandparents, his father's parents, the collective unit did its best to bring up Maxx in something of a stable home. A feat they managed to accomplish about the range where his first consistent memories started to form by the time he was five. There were  a few arguments, a few times on generation insisted it knew better on how to raise him than the other, a few long bouts of silent treatment where Maxx served as the exception. However, it was a home life that Maxx couldn't really complain about.  Sure, he never brought them up but that was both due to Maxx just not talking about himself and, well, him not having friends to talk to.

That changed in middle school however when Maxx found himself approached by a rather hyperactive girl named Alex who noticed him by himself. After a bit of back and forth and a lot of prodding from her? He eventually relented to her request and joined not only her but two others named Tara and Jack for a conversation as something of a tie breaking vote and swaying voice. A decision that resulted in Maxx being constantly brought in, included, and eventually making friends with the trio. A friendship that lasts to this day. Between all the relationship drama that he didn't care about, the confusion and unease that came with Alex constantly moving in and out of the area, the realization that Jack and Tara had about themselves, Maxx was always something of a consistent if cynical voice. A grounding force that helped keep everyone together, kept them from being disappointed by getting their hopes too high, and also helped lift them up whenever their worries sank too low but giving his best, somewhat realistic, expectations.

Now in college, Maxx is doing his best to simply make due. With plans already in place to join his mother and grandparents in running the family business, a restaurant that is something of a local favorite, Maxx is doing his best to get a more general education that, if anything does go wrong, he can quickly slot himself into another role and make due without too much of a worry. Of course that depends on him actually getting his work done which is easier said than done. Although, truth be told, his friends are doing a good enough job keeping him on the straight and narrow. Perhaps they are doing it for selfish reasons like he cynically think now and then, being the only one among them with a car to drive them around or to make themselves feel better, or the more accurate reason that they were the same good people who saw a lonely kid and made him a group. While he still has a long way to being part of the general whole, between his classes, helping his family out, and hanging out with his friends and going places they wanted to meet with people they wanted him to meet? Maxx is on his way to finding a place he can properly fit in.
