Denien is Sams significant other. She's also the younger twin sister by a minute or so to Stephen.

Denien has no interest in children. Sure Denien seems to have a good knowledge on childcare, at least in terms of home remedies and basic needs due to her and Stephen being the 'babysitters' for their cousins when they were younger, but due to how much she was entrusted with children in her past it made her never to want kids. Not in the long term that is. She didn't mind when Sam chose to watch Tyler and she helped out but she didn't want to spend as much time with him as much as Sam did. That said, the same could go for caring for most pets. Denien doesn't want any dogs or cats or birds or the like. She doesn't want to be responsible for somethings mental or emotional well being(foreshadowing relantionship cough cough \s). Sam is told this early on about the pet thing. Denien did tell her she did have some pet fish. Cool, something simple to liven up her Studio Apartment. What Sam wasn't expecting the 1st time she comes over is Denien having a 100+gallon aquarium full of a variety of sea life. Denien likes fish. She spends a good day once a week making sure the tank and her fish are in good condition. Denien doesn't mind putting in the work. It's her way of relaxing and winding down from a long week. This was a fascination that she got from her father since he owned several aquariums and had them around in his many offices. Despite not having much contact with her homeland, she actually got most of the fish sent from her father overseas in the last few years she lived here, his way of trying to keep in touch with her. So it's contains more exotic fish than what Sam (or most RO folk) have seen.
Denien isn't a bad person, she's just a different thinker. Grew up in a household where she had to learn to speak over others to gain attention, and if that nobody liked that, well you gotta be louder and pay no shit or mind to what others want. Denien can grab a hold of what she wants but wasn't taught to think about the consequences of her actions towards other people.
Denien ran away from her old home is became emancipated at the age of 16.
She doesn't hate children but would rather not spend time around them as she used to be made to babysit a lot back in her old home town.
