Dr. Hana

Although Dr. Hana carries the qualifications and the title of a doctor, she rarely performs her job as a doctor. She mainly works as a consultant, closely working with Amiya, leads the paramilitary forces of Rhodes Island, and sometimes sees certain guests. However, she does tend to patients once in a while, especially when an extra helping hand is needed. She also helps around in Dr. Kal'tsit's lab once in a while. People who have worked with her said that she has a big thirst of knowledge. She admitted that she's more suited to be a researcher than a doctor.

Dr. Hana was raised in Victoria along with her younger twin brother, Dr. Hagi. Their birthplace is unknown. Because she spent the majority of her life in Victoria, she considers it her hometown and is able to relate to Melantha and Siege.

Although she came from a middle-class family, she and her brother were able to attend an elite academy all the way to college due to their natural talents and intellect. That said, her mannerisms leave much to be desired, even in the past. She was known to be a problematic kid since young age despite excelling in everything she did. In contrast, Dr. Hagi was known to be a gentleman, the very picture of a Victorian boy. Despite the differences, the twins get along very well with each other.

In university, while Dr. Hagi studied in the medical field, Dr. Hana studied Originium. After her family died in a mysterious incident, she took a few years off from college to travel around Terra along with Dr. Hagi. The reason for this is unknown and she refuses to answer, no matter how much everyone else begged her. However, she is more than happy to tell stories of her journey, including showing photos and the knowledge she learned. It seems she keeps a digital journal on her smartphone and PC.

She is a member of a flower mantis race, a species of praying mantis. Insect races are rare to be seen, more so a race that can do mimicry. Rather than mimicking a flower, though, they closely mimic normal humans with the lack of praying mantis features, other than their usually hidden wings.

Arthropods like her face prejudice and discrimination in many societies for their well-known dangerous nature, however Rhodes Island discriminates nobody. Dr. Hana is free to roam with her wings spread out in Rhodes Island, which she rarely does because she's weak to cold, keeping the coat on her body. She said her wings are only for decoration and there's no point in showing them.

As a flower mantis, she has an extraordinary grip strength and can slowly change her hair color based on her surroundings, something nobody has ever seen with their own eyes. Apparently, this process can be accelerated with Arts.

Many operators noted that she gives off a sweet scent reminiscent of a flower, another characteristic of her race. The scent is supposedly pheromone, although it doesn't affect anyone in a particular way, thus acting more like a natural perfume that many people enjoy.

She stated that the pheromones she gave off will only affect fellow insect races and not the real insects, but Pefurmer said otherwise; giving a witness account of a few pollinator bugs chasing after her when she's in the garden. Further research into the nature of her pheromone is needed to reach a conclusion.

Despite being one of Rhodes Island's top executives, many people are skeptical of her abilities because of her laid back nature. She likes to joke around and tease other people, often flirtatiously, regardless of gender. She also likes to do mischief, sometimes collaborating with another prankster, Cliffheart.

On top of that, she's caught skipping work to take a nap numerous times. Hide and seek with her becomes a daily activity for the operators in Rhodes Island. Most people can't catch her however, as she's good at running and hiding, perhaps the best at it. Even her sweet scent can't pinpoint her exact location. Some are exasperated and some others are having fun. It should be noted that most of her work is finished when she runs off to take a nap, but it does not excuse her behavior.

She admitted that she isn't narcoleptic, but it's simply her hobby to sleep. Indeed, she always has a travel pillow with her anywhere she goes. Her ability to sleep anywhere at anytime is remarkable. She even dared to sleep in the middle of Ch'en's lectures. When she isn't working and doing mischief, she can be seen sleeping in the garden.

With such an irresponsible display, it's only natural for people to wonder how she got her position and why Amiya deeply respects her. Their doubts are mostly cleared away when they see her commanding on the battlefield. Her bright mind undoubtedly brings Rhodes Island paramilitary forces to glory.

Other than sleeping, her known hobby includes playing chess and collecting knives. She wins in chess most of the time, with the only people known to beat her being Dr. Kal'tsit and SilverAsh. She is also good at dancing, but will only dance when she's in a good mood. As Perfurmer and Flamebringer have found her sucking on certain flowers many times, perhaps that too, can be considered as a hobby.

I wasn't born to be the Queen of arthropods. While I possess pheromones and enough charisma to charm and lead people, I didn't have the Queen Factor, the most important criteria. I was just your average and everyday flower mantis...until I got severely injured in a mission, back when I was still in Gigelorum.

On the verge of death, the greatest doctor in Gigelorum injected me with the Queen Factor to save my life...and to make me a Queen. I don't know why she wants me to become one. The Queen Factor grants many things, including regeneration. A natural-born Queen will have some kind of "stinger", but I don't have it, so she added a "tail" connected to my spine with a stinger at the end. This stinger can poison and turn others into my "followers". Of course, this was all done without my consent. I was unconscious. Hagi and my teammates didn't consent to it, either. Suffice to say, it was illegal.

So now, I'm fully capable to be a Queen. But I don't want to. I never wish for this and I don't want to use these powers, ever

Do you know where I'm going with this? Well...I'd like you to help me find a way to remove the Queen Factor and this stinger. If not, at least help me monitor this modified body of mine. Okay? You can do as much for me, can't you?

Keep this a secret from others. In Rhodes Island, only you may know. The people with me already know about this, of course. What? No, they aren't my "followers". They'd grow a stinger if that's the case. I've never used my stinger. Why else would I want to get rid of them? What, you don't believe me?

Kal'tsit...if I want to take over the world, I would've done it long ago in Gigelorum. You know this already, don't you? I'm not greedy for power. The way you doubt me is a bit painful.

"Hey, Hagi. Are you sure about doing it?"
"Yes. What is this? Did Dr. Kal'tsit send you? She said she won't get in my way."
"Don't worry, she said nothing. I'm here just to talk to you. This might be the last time we talk, after all."
"I see..."
"..."
"You know, my sister…is quite the selfish woman that acts on her whims for her amusement. This world is too boring for a genius like her, it seems.
"..."
"However, she truly cares about the few people she loves, so much that it drives her insane. The sister I knew might be irresponsible and lazy, but she was far kinder than anyone else. The current her…I don't know who she is."
"Even so, you love her, don't you?"
"Of course. She's the only family I have left. If I don't love her, I won't risk myself like this. Ever since that day…she single-mindedly chases after that goal, paving road towards destruction. What's in her eyes is only the future she desperately wishes to see. Even I no longer register in her eyes."
"…You know, we live on top of sacrifices. Even if nobody wants to say it, it's a fact. We're able to get this far thanks to many sacrifices. Even if she doesn't do what she does, I'm sure there will be many sacrifices as well…all for the greater cause. Maybe there might be more casualties without her command."
"Rather than standing atop a pile of corpses…it's more accurate to say that she's being crushed under it. The weight slowly but surely becomes too great to bear, and soon enough, everything will collapse."
"I didn't think she's that kind of emotional person."
"You don't know her. To be honest, she might not even conscious of her own mental state. That makes it far more dangerous. Then again, she doesn't mind dying if it means accomplishing her goal, so perhaps losing her sanity is fine as long as she can reach the goal still. The ends justify the means."
"She might as well be a sacrificial pawn in her own game, huh?"
"Yes. Like a sacrificial queen. That's why, I…want to save her."
"Won't she hate you for it?"
"I'm sure she will. Fine by me. I don't care what means I need to use as long as she stays alive. We can't afford to let her self-destruct just yet."
"...Are you sure you can save someone who doesn't want to be saved?"
"I'm not sure, hence my drastic plan. My head isn't as good as hers, but this is the best plan I can think of. I'll try my best to the bitter end."
"Is it…for Rhodes Island's sake, or your own sake?"
