A dragon from the northern area of the reformed supercontinent, Neo-Pangaea. She lives with a curse, but despite that she seems to be thriving.
She has countless unresolved issues in her life, but she ignores them all equally like the responsible dragon she is :)
She likes solitude and fighting, and even if she denies it she loves her friends as well. Not very emotionally articulate, but very very emotional. Despite the rough exterior, she’s generally very well-meaning and kind.

Quirks & Habits
Their tail is super flexible and tends to wrap around things if she isn’t thinking about it. Sometimes it’ll wrap around something so tightly that she’ll end up yanking it when she moves. She has a habit of touching her horns, which started after the curse incident.
Communication
She is very bad at expressing how she's feeling, but surprisingly good at asking for help. Of course she'll do all she possibly can before actually asking, but when the time comes to bring in someone else she won't hesitate. In general day-to-day conversation, they like to let other people do most of the talking.
Since she spends most of her time talking with close friends, she relies heavily on implicit communication through body language and whatnot. Fuyumi, Mira, and even Damien are able to easily pick up on what she’s trying to express most of the time, but for strangers she may end up coming across as indecisive at best, dodgy and suspicious at worst.
Showing Affection
They're very curt and low-key when it comes to showing affection. During extra vulnerable moments they'll be a bit more lenient with their friends though. Out of everyone in the world, Fuyumi receives the most physical affection (hugs, etc) from Talia.

- As much as they hate their curse, they will at least concede that the sparkly purple horns do look pretty sick.
She cares deeply for her friends, but thanks to her curse sometimes she’ll end up hurting them.
Even if Fuyumi can heal wounds and Mira claims nothing fazes her, the effects of the curse hurt much less than the look of fear in her friends’ eyes.
Her day-to-day appearance is pretty simple. She color-coordinates most of her outfits and loves to try out new styles. Although usually they’ll just go with a techwear vibe… They like to present themselves in a pretty androgynous way, although they’ll wear “gendered” clothing on occasion as well.
In her “crystal wrath” form, she’s very very sparkly! Also usually crying.

- Their hair is about shoulder-length when let down.
- The crystal patterns are random, just stick to the color scheme.
- Feel free to get experimental with outfits/accessories!! Anything techwear is always good, and formal clothing (dresses/suits) is also cool.
Talia is mostly geared toward fast attacks and faster retreats. When she combines her crystal wrath form with her Truesight, she can be incredibly dangerous on the battlefield. The main drawback is that she trades most of her durability for this strength. Any hits she takes will hit hard, and just one hit too many will render her useless.

Abilities
Like most dragons in the North, she has a sort of ‘alternate form’ that comes out occasionally. Hers is triggered by strong emotions, and in turn amplifies these emotions greatly. In that state she can’t tell friend from foe, so she attacks everyone just to be safe. She’s mentioned to others that when the ability activates, she feels like a raw scab, both physically and emotionally. In times of great desperation, she can even shift into a highly powerful and highly dangerous full feral form.
She was born with the ability, but the crystals came later in life, after a curse-induced accident. The power was a lot more tame before the curse; the crystals caused the emotion-enhancing effect, which is where most of the unpredictability and danger comes from.

Abilities
Every Northern dragon has their own “Truesight,” and though it differs from person to person, each one generally affects their perception somehow (hence the ‘sight’ part). Talia’s Truesight allows them to calculate distance pretty much instantly; it’s useful for maneuvering cityscapes at very high speeds. It’s constantly ‘activated,’ so if they crash into something either they were startled or it was on purpose.
She was born with her Truesight as well, but it hasn’t been altered at all by any curses. It’s just pure Truesight!

- Currently does sidequests for a living.
Chapter One: "Childhood & Curse"
She was born in the northern area of Neo-Pangaea (which is why she has a Truesight), but since her parents were good friends with Damien’s parents, she lived in between the northern and southern areas for the earlier years of her life. They were a pretty good student, and spent a lot of time playing outside with their friends. There was a notable lack of supervision at some points, which is the most likely explanation for how they got into their whole curse situation. At least they had fun with their friends while it lasted!
The curse turned her into who she is now. Her memories of the exact details are pretty fuzzy, but the gist of it is that crystals will grow on her, and those crystals make her angry. The curse melded with her power, which is triggered by very strong emotions. It began to enhance these emotions to a point where she’d become volatile and terrified, and her paranoia would cause her to attack others. The crystals themselves don’t hurt her very much, but during the early days they used to, for sure. Some nights she wouldn’t be able to sleep because of how much they ached. They left scars too, although now most of them have faded somewhat. Overall, she finds it annoying and wishes it would go away.
Her rampages caused many of her former friends to fear her, and against her wishes, she grew distant and cold. She tried to cool her emotions in order to keep other people safe, but she’s inherently a very emotional person—that didn’t work out at all. The guilt of hurting other people crushed her to a point where she decided it was better to just avoid interacting with people in general.
Chapter Two: "Present Day"
A handful of years after her curse developed, she moved to the city. There, she met her current closest friends, Fuyumi and Mira. Although they’re closer with Fuyumi, they actually met Mira first, at a grocery store. They hit it off surprisingly well, which may or may not have been due to Mira’s psychic Truesight. Mira invited Talia to a concert at one point (Fuyumi’s band, Whitebird, was performing, and Mira wanted to introduce Talia to her friend), and the two planned to go hang out together!
But of course something went terribly wrong—the music affected Talia in a way that caused her curse to flare up! Back when she was younger she used to go to concerts all the time, but it had been ages since she had last seen live music, and the nostalgia combined with the emotion of the music sent her into a fit. It sounds dramatic, but in the world of dragons, it isn’t all too uncommon for something like that to happen. It was big enough that it disrupted the performance though, and Talia ended up hurting a few people as well as herself. Fuyumi ran off the stage and used her Truesight (a sort of healing ability) to calm down Talia and help out everyone who was injured. Mira said afterwards that it was the perfect way to introduce Talia to Fuyumi, despite the circumstances.
After that incident, their individual friendships continued to develop. Talia became Fuyumi’s roommate and grew somewhat distant with Mira. That of course leads to where they all are now!

The Past: First Encounter and Impressions
They met at one of Whitebird’s concerts—Fuyumi jumped off the stage to help Talia and the people who were hurt. This naturally left a very strong impression on Talia, and after that they spent a long time trying to befriend Fuyumi. Fuyumi was just happy that someone genuinely wanted to start and maintain a friendship, and excitedly indulged Talia.
This caused a few bumps in the road; relationships built entirely on infatuation usually aren’t built to last. But fortunately that got past that stage and developed a true friendship that stood the test of time.
The Present: Attitudes and Dynamic
To this day, Talia is kind of infatuated with Fuyumi’s Truesight, since it can help negate the effects of their curse. They don’t really have any secrets from each other; if Talia has a problem the first person she’ll go to is Fuyumi, and the same is true for Fuyumi. The only thing they’ll angrily disagree with each other about is whether or not Mira is trustworthy.
The Future: Hopes
To be honest, Talia just wants to maintain the status quo. She lives a comfortable life with Fuyumi, and any disruptions to that comfort are just really annoying!!
They hope that Fuyumi will introduce them to the other members of Whitebird someday.

Mira’s psychic powers felt like a breach of privacy, and Talia felt like she could never forgive her friend for it.
Although the mind reading had its benefits, even if the mere concept of it disgusted Talia. Since Talia isn’t the most articulate person when it comes to her emotions, Mira’s personal understanding of her feelings helped the two of them communicate on a much deeper level.
The Present: Attitudes and Dynamic
Despite the very low stat bars compared to Fuyumi, Talia doesn’t hate Mira. She’ll preach adamantly about how untrustworthy she is, but the very next day (or even as soon as the next hour) you’ll see the two of them hanging out together as if everything is fine. Is Talia the fakest person alive? Maybe it’s all a setup and they’re both in on the joke?
No, it’s none of these. Talia genuinely doesn’t trust Mira, but is still drawn to her for some inexplicable reason. Mira knows Talia doesn’t trust her, and she feels it isn’t up to her to change that. Their bond is a little bit strange, but even though it seems bad they’re slowly getting better.
The Future: Hopes
She wants to forgive Mira, but she can’t bring herself to do it. They miss the days when they weren’t afraid to give Mira a hug. Hopefully things will change soon.
"I doubt it’s possible to find a guy as cool as Damien. Don’t tell him this, but I’ve always looked up to him…he’s so strong, in so many ways."
Whenever they travel south, they’ll stay with Damien for a few days, just to catch up. Talia really admires his tenacity and passion, and though they never say it out loud it’s pretty obvious. Damien was one of the very few people who stuck with Talia despite the curse. They aren’t cousins by blood, but with how close they are they might as well be.
