Ryuzuo Akiyama

Ryuzuo is a dutiful man. For him, his boss and his work come first, and everything else comes second. His cold stoicism gives him an intimidating demeanor. He is most often calm and collected and prides himself in keeping his cool and being the rock of his group. But he can still be provoked to anger. He's naturally a man of few words. Don't get him wrong though; he will speak his mind and doesn't shy away from sharing his strong opinions when appropriate. However, he is closed off about his personal life. He doesn't see much point in sharing that about himself. He is plenty satisfied and self assured from his work while his personal life is lonely and lacking. He has a tendency to get pent up and irritable when not keeping busy.

As a young man, Ryuzuo joined the yakuza because he didn't have any other paths left open for him as a poor young delinquent. He joined the most powerful group in the area, The Silver Dragons, run by a young Hitori Masanori. He did well at his job, and rose through the ranks because of his dedication and thoroughness. He was good at what he did and was able to give himself a better life than what he experienced as a child.

As he gained more respect, he was given the opportunity to take newer members under his wing, such as Yoto Ken, who would often act out and Ryu would have to take responsibility for him, but slowly overtime, he was able to reign him back.

Working under Hitori for a long time meant that he knew his family well, as they were all, more or less, in the business. And Ryuzuo greatly began to admire Hitori's 6th son, Rokuro, who had great ambitions but received little recognition for them.  

After being inspired by Rokuro's visions of the future, Ryuzuo grew unsatisfied with the stagnant life he had built for himself under Hitori. Knowing he was putting his life at risk, Ryuzuo left the Silver Dragon group to help Rokuro build The Black Fox Syndicate from the Ground up. He does not want to live with regrets.
