Introduction

Aster Alexandria Estrada

She/They

Female

Bi/Demiromantic

20

January 17

Angel/Human

Seraph

An angel who worked very closely with the leader of Aeris and was seen almost always right by the leader's side as she assisted her in tasks alongside keeping guard while Celeste ran her experiments. Aster has many points in her childhood and life before where they feel like big gaps of their memory are missing but is unsure of how. Sometimes she almost remembers things but in the end, they just can't figure it out no matter what they do. After the angel’s disappearance, rumors spread that the “captured demon” kidnapped them along with another angel, but Celeste doesn't seem bothered by that despite Aster being her younger sister. Aster didn't get kidnapped, she fled willingly.

Magic/Abilities

Unlike other angels, Aster actually has no natural magical abilities at the moment. The most she can do is fly but compared to other angels that's not special at all. Despite not having magic like others, she makes up for it with her strength and skills in sword fighting.

She may be powerless in terms of magic but do not make the mistake to underestimate them.

  • Patient
  • Resolute
  • Reliable
  • Blunt
  • Perfectionist
  • Emotionally withdrawn

Demeanor

Aster possesses a reserved and guarded demeanor. They can often appear stoic and detached, keeping her emotions hidden beneath a calm and composed exterior. She has a quiet presence that can make it difficult for others to read her true thoughts and feelings. She is polite and respectful. They choose their words carefully, often speaking in a measured and thoughtful manner so as to not accidentally say the wrong things. She values honesty and integrity, and expects the same from those around her. Aster is independent and self-reliant, preferring to handle things on her own rather than relying on others. She values her autonomy greatly and resists becoming dependent on anyone. This independence however can sometimes make it challenging for her to accept help or reach out for support when she really needs it. She also is just constanly...confused, or at least looks like it half the time. She's just thinking but at the same time her head is empty as they zone out often.

Weaknesses

She struggles with adapting to new situations or dealing with unexpected changes, finding comfort in routines and feeling overwhelmed or anxious when things are unpredictable. Enforcing a routine helps her to feel like they have control over something in their life. Aster has a tendency to become impatient, especially when things don't progress as quickly or efficiently as they would like, which can lead to frustration. This, tied with her need to keep a routine can end up with her shutting down when it takes too long to move back into her routine. She'll often grow quiet when this happens and more irritable, but opts to try and distance herself from people as she knows she can lash out.

Habits

Aster has a habit of striving for perfection in everything she does, often setting high standards for herself and feeling dissatisfied if things don't meet her expectations. Has a habit of always keeping herself busy and finding it difficult to relax or take breaks. She may feel a sense of guilt or restlessness when not actively engaged in tasks or projects.

Trivia

  • They flap their wings when they get happy or excited about something. Usually it's the wings on her head but it can be her other ones as well!
  • She can't cook,,,,it's a mess man HAHA do NOT let her cook in your kitchen unsupervised unless you're ready to have something burn down
  • Like other angels, her wings puff up when she gets embarassed/flustered, scared suddenly, or sometimes when she's cold she'll puff up her feathers to be warm.
  • Aster goes by She/They eventually and has that as her primary pronouns but she's not opposed to people using other pronouns for her!
  • Aster gets a lot of reccuring vivid dreams but thinks nothing of it

Story

AGE 20-PRESENT

Reports of a demon trespassing in Aeris were made and they were caught. Aster was tasked with keeping guard over the demon as Celeste planned what to do with them. It was easy, Aster stood guard for Celeste many times, how much harder could this be?

IMG_9846.png

Then the demon started to speak, even introducing herself to Aster, saying her name was “Layla”. Layla spoke about how she had some sort of personal mission having to do with her sister and that was why she came over into Aeris. Aster could’ve cared less but when the demon started to make comments about planning to escape that night she became suspicious. She made the mistake of speaking to her and was tricked as Layla got a hand of the key to her cell. Aster though was smart, she pretended to agree with the demon’s mission and said they would free her if she handed the keys over. Hesitantly she did, and Aster opened the door. But before Layla could even get a word out she found herself knocked on the ground as the loud slam of her door and a small clinking sound were heard. Aster had shoved the demon as she quickly entered the cell locking it and throwing the key out…which maybe wasn’t the smartest but it prevented Layla from escaping. The demon teased the angel for their clearly not thought-out plan but stopped when another voice was heard from outside.

A guard had heard the commotion and came over to investigate and was surprised to see what it was. Aster recognized it as Lucius and silence between the two followed. She eventually explained the situation to him and then made the decision to actually let Layla go, which surprised both Lucius and Layla. Reluctantly Lucius grabbed the key and opened the cell to let them go. The demon offered for him to join them as well and after stepping away to think it over, he agreed.

Aster now acts as the leader of this little group of theirs. Despite how obedient she was to Celeste, a part of her was tired of the way she was being treated, so she found this as a way to escape from Celeste and doesn't want to go back anytime soon after seeing there's more to life than just spending your days being ordered around.

AGE 13-20

Aster was given the title “Captain” of the other Seraphs, she hadn’t even been in that rank for long, yet was Captain. With time Aster truly earned their title because of their strength, she was a skilled fighter on the battlefield despite her age at the time. That wasn’t the only change though, Lucius had been demoted to one of the lower ranks, neither of them understood why but Aster didn’t see it as a problem. After all, they would still talk and such right? Wrong. Celeste became even more strict and refused to have Aster speak to Lucius, she had something against him. She did everything in her power to keep them apart and distant from each other, even twisting lies about the boy which in turn caused Aster to finally form dislike towards him. Soon enough Aster stopped trying to speak to him and ignored him since.

More gaps in her memory formed. People became afraid of her but she was told it was a good thing. She had heard that someone would be exiled but they don't remember it even happening. When did it happen? Who was it? She doesn’t remember but things stayed the same. Aster spent her days stuck in the palace not allowed to go out. When they were allowed out, they were a personal guard for Celeste, alongside being made to punish those who went against her.

Aster’s mind and thoughts had been so twisted and tainted by Celeste’s words by this point, she wasn’t the same.

Her life was good, sure maybe Celeste started to act a bit more irritated, and maybe she got into arguments with their parents but everything was ok. Until it wasn’t.

No one saw it coming it was so sudden. Aster was woken up early in the morning by one of the advisors and was informed something horrible had happened and to come with them. Worried, she went to wake up Lucius and the two were led down the hall to her parent's room where the other palace workers were crowded around the door. She stood confused but suddenly a thought came into her head and she ran to the crowd leaving behind her friend as she tried to push her way through to enter the room. The others noticed her and reluctantly let her through the door. She walked in and saw Celeste standing by the side of their bed with tears. She looked at her parents and her heart sank as she saw them. There they were laying in their bed, not asleep, but dead. Aster stood there frozen, they couldn’t process it, it couldn’t have happened. Aster ran to their bed and sobbed as she grieved for her parents. Lucius caught up and was stunned as well, he went over to comfort his friend and the two cried as the bodies were eventually taken out of the room.

A year passed and Aster was doing their best to still get over the death of their parents, it was still unknown how it happened but Aster tried not to think about it too much. Not too long after what happened, Celeste assigned Aster and Lucius to train, which was odd because of their age but the two of them didn’t seem too bothered. In a way it helped keep Aster’s thoughts stable, she took up practicing sword fighting and gained a love for it. Meanwhile, her sister took the throne and took charge of the kingdom, she was fine for a bit and seemed to calm down for a short while, but then she went back to how she acted and was even worse than before. She became so engrossed in her work and would constantly yell and punish Aster if she spoke too much or annoyed her too much. Out of fear they started to shut down, becoming less talkative, just training more because it’s what Celeste wanted. Aster still spoke to Lucius but she was beginning to drift away as she talked less and became more occupied with training and jobs that were given to her.

Now around this time was where Aster started to forget things. Gaps in her memory formed and she just couldn’t remember things or even days. One instance of this was when she could vaguely remember being led into a room of some sort and suddenly being put on a lab bed and strapped down. She tried fighting out of panic and confusion but as she looked around, all they could see were bright lights around them and a silhouette until everything went black. It always does, and she can't remember. Everytime she tries to remember it, the memory just feels so hazy to the point she thinks it was just some vivid nightmare. She doesn’t know what happened that day but things changed after that.

BIRTH-7

Aster was just a normal kid and a very outgoing and talkative one. She lived with her older sister and parents and life was pretty good for a kid her age. Although unlike other kids Aster felt very alone, she didn’t have any friends. People were too difficult for her to understand and she could never understand why no one came back to visit or talk to them. Did she scare them off? Say the wrong things? She didn’t know but nonetheless, they wished to have a friend for once.

Then He came along. Celeste had come across an orphaned boy and decided to have him stay with them. It didn’t take long for Aster to start talking to him. Unlike the other kids she spoke to, he was different, and not just the clear obvious difference, no. But for the fact that he stayed. He was a very quiet and shy kid and he listened to her and kept talking to her. In return, he eventually opened up and the two spoke and became close friends over time. They spent their days out in the town with Celeste or would hang out in the garden or even in the palace’s library. The two of them were inseparable and one was never seen without the other.

Honestly it's just a mix of a lot of things; such as relating to scenes that happens and her thoughts throughout the story.

uh oh
Hate the players who played you.

This song makes me go insane this fits her so perfecly due to something that happens later on in the story. It's not really spoilers if I go into the details, I just like being vague about it. But just listen to it and you might get an idea of what happens :)

Jack Conte - Off with His Head

Exile

Numb

Idk, just makes me think about her and when she became the one to carry out exiles without any knowledge of even doing so and having a period of time after where she just would feel very numb.

Different.

Point of Aster's childhood where she started to change and just became a shell of her former self. She wasn't the same person anymore.

Relationships

Layla

"She's...alright. She's helped me a lot and seems to understand me. She can be annoying, but I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way."

The two met when Layla was captured and Aster was tasked with keeping guard to ensure she wouldn't escape. Layla was the one who started talking, she tried bothering and talking to them to maybe get a word out of them and eventually succeeded. After a conversation about why Layla got captured, Aster ends up agreeing to help her. Layla has always found it easy to talk to Aster and tries to bring her out of her shell more. Aster is not the greatest at interacting with others and struggles to do so, but she appreciates what Layla does,,,even if the demon does get on her nerves sometimes. Deep down Aster really does care for Layla a lot but feels a bit conflicted by it.

Lucius

"We used to be close as kids. I do want to be friends again but...I'm sorry"

Aster has known Lucius since they were younger, as kids they would always play together and were inseparable and were rarely seen without the other. Sadly the two would become distant at one point and didn't speak to the other for years. After Aster and Lucius escape with Layla they start talking a bit but it's honestly just short responses from Aster. She wishes to reconnect with Lucius but is unsure how to do so. She feels bad for suddenly ignoring him for all these years.

Soren

"There was always something in my mind that made me feel uneasy around them, it's still there but it's not as bad as it was before. He's kind and understanding so I've pushed it aside. But sometimes I get this feeling of...guilt?"

Soren helped her when she was lost in Below and they talked and became acquaintances. In the beginning they didn't really speak much to each other nor did they hang out together, there was always something in the back of Aster's mind that just irked her when she was around them but could never figure out what exactly.

Eventually the two grew to be more comfortable around each other and would spend time, realizing they had a lot more in common than they thought at first. The two formed a close sibling bond, often acting as a caring older sibling for the other. With both being the 'leaders' of the group they can understand the stress that comes along with it and often try to help each other when it becomes too much.

Kenji

"I didn't worry much when I was around him at first, although I could tell he seemed a bit scared of me, so I just waited it out until he felt comfortable to speak to me."

The two didn't really talk at first because she intimidated Kenji but over time he started to warm up to them and would talk to her. In the beginning, Aster sees Kenji as someone that she can talk to about things unlike the others, she never knew Kenji or never had bad feelings from him and feels like there's no worry or stress when she's talking with him. It's comforting.

Lilith

"She's,,a bit annoying if you ask me and overly friendly sometimes. I don't know if I can really trust her but at the same time she seems to understand me...maybe she's not as bad as I think?"

Aster has no clue who this person is, but constantly see's them in her dreams and nightmares, almost as if reliving the events of their life.

After Lilith and Aster meet, she quickly becomes wary as the goddess tries to befriend her. Overtime though, Aster's worries go away but insted she just finds Lilith to be annoying and sometimes overbearing. She does have a bit of pity for her and genuinely wants to help her, but sometimes it's just frustrating trying to deal with her.

Celeste

"You're a horrible person. I thought I knew you..."

Celeste is her older sister but after their parents died she took the role of acting like a mother figure, although she was horrible at it. She only negleted Aster and ordered her around, not once did she even treat her like a sister. Aster has a deep hatred for Celeste after realizing what she was doing was wrong. Celeste is the reason Aster acts the way they do, they were different as a kid and Lucius knows this.

Elias

"He found me and gave me a place to stay and for that I am forever greatful. I don't know where he went or when he'll return, but I pray he's safe."

Elias was the one who found Soren when they had escaped the facility and was basically passed tf out on the floor. He took them into their home and the two became roomates and really close friends. After hearing about what happened to Soren's wings Elias made it his personal mission to create a permanent potion to restore their wings and thus left to find the ingredients needed but...for whatever reason, he hasn't returned yet. Soren misses Elias and ended up living there after he left; and later on in the story whenthe group needs a place to stay Soren offers to have em stay at Elias's home.
