Holly first met Spice when he somehow wound up getting inside of her time machine and basically was living in it's kitchen baking for about a week. Naturally, she was absolutely fascinated by him and how he could have possibly wound up inside and how she never knew he was there for that long. Wanting to know more about him, she wound up taking him on as a companion of sorts on her travels throughout time and space.
As time went on, they grew closer and Holly discovred that this fascination she had for Spice had turned into love and affection for him.
