Zyanya and Joby first met while Zyanya was on a case, she had been following another Jellybean Dragon, but had unfortunately been shaken off their tail. She ended up ducking into Joby's coffee shop/pub The Roasted Bean to take a break and put together what she had so far on the case. Unfortunately, she never ended up doing that as she wound up falling for Joby and spending quite a fair amount of time either flirting with her or just talking to her. They had quite a lot in common and found it easy to talk to one another.
