Pommel the Magpie (Pommel (Nights into Dreams V.))

Meaning: A pommel is a weight at the end of a sword's grip which counter-balances the blade.

Species: Nightmaren

Alignement: Uncertain

Wanting the garantee that his servants would no longer rebel, Wizeman created a new league of Nightmaren with reduced consciences. Pommel may seem like the model Nightmaren, however, this lack of self-suficience leads her to seek bigger thrills and better guides whereever she can.

Bio: Pommel was created to replace Nights to a certain extent. Wizeman lessened her powers and conscience to limit the risks of having to deal with another rebel. 

Reala, however, is not pleased with this development (as he still missed his old partner) and avoids the new Nightmaren at all costs. Finding Wizeman's instructions to be unclear and Reala to be unhelpful, Pommel sets out to find a proper "master". 

In a turn of events, she and NiGHTS meet, and Pommel elects the more experienced dream creature as her new guide.

Similarly to NiGHTS, Pommel can be found hovering leisurely through the various dreamscapes. However, she avoids Visitors as she struggles to grasp their emotional issues.

Her visor acts as her persona. Because the slits are so thin, it impairs her vision, so she mainly relies on her sense of hearing. When she wants to see more clearly, she rapidly shakes her head. When she comes in contact with NiGHTS, she starts pulling the visor up.

Pommel requires Slag's concentrated Twinkle Dust for her powers to peak. Without it, she cannont shapeshift, summon mareblooms, and is noticeably slower than NiGHTS and Reala. With it, however, she she can outperform them both.

Personality: Pommel struggles with critical thinking and is very literal. She is aware of this and her social inaptutude makes her afraid to asks questions. This makes her seem dumb, but beware: Pommel is an exceptionnal and cunning fighter regardless. Pommel loves to collect sharp objects and flowers, which she stores in her realm in a highly organized manner. While she is still learning, Pommel is closely in touch with her sentiments and desires. She tends to mirror the mannerism of the friend she is currently following.
