Shinkami is a magic spirit that was put under a curse and bound to a staff by an unknown mage thousands of years ago.
He is bound to obey whoever wields the staff, and the way to break the curse is lost to time.
He is a mischevious and impossibly powerful entity. His existence was considered a rumor, but Twilax pursued it until she actually managed to obtain it.
Twilax is self-taught in her ability to use the staff, so she hasn't been able to use its full power.
If she loses control, Shinkami can take over so she's timid with her use of his staff.
In his physical form, his insides glow blue. The more magic he's generating/using, the brighter it gets.
Sometimes when he starts to overexert himself, he starts to appear "shattered" with bright blue channels
resembling cracks form on his body. This can also happen if he's severely injured/weakened somehow.
(hence why the staff appears cracked, with the glowing blue channels.)
