Ivory Yumihari's Links
Ivory's initial curiosity about anything related to the case is what brings him to Ishiki in the first place. However, very quickly, Ivory's goal to prod information out of him turns into an innocent desire to get to know them more. Eventually, this results in Ishiki becoming Ivory's voice of reason -- but at the same time, Ivory becomes Ishiki's encouragement to break out of his very, very tight comfort zone, for better or worse.
While the hairties that Ishiki crafts for Ivory prove to be an invaluable asset in battle, Ivory can also see the immeasurable amount of time and care Ishiki puts into making them. Thus, despite Ishiki's outwardly prickly personality, Ivory can tell they care about him very much, and attempts to minimize some of the reckless shenanigans that he gets himself into in hopes that Ishiki doesn't get too concerned.
Ugh. Ishiki hates that he likes them. Why are they like.... this.
Ishiki has chosen to trust Ivory—a feat in and of itself—and he finds himself slipping into a sense of familiarity with him at times. Ivory might really be his only friend. He worries that if something were to happen to them, he would have nothing left.
His feelings on Strawberry are more complex than he's aware of, but for now, he sees her in a positive light.
Her feelings about Ivory as whole are two-sided -- there's the part of them that she finds charming (if not silly), and the side that wishes that he'd butt out of things.
While Ivory worries about her recklessness and tendency to bite off more than she can chew, his habit to do the same makes it difficult for him to truly convince her to be careful. They do their best to at least convince others that Yoko is of course, a very normal girl -- but given Ivory's inability to weave a good lie, the results of this end up being more comical than intended.
Yoko has not yet cottoned on to the fact that Ivory is the leader of the Seraphim now. She knows now that at the very least he is a Seraph (since he has seen her other form)... but he also only has one wing, so she presumes that he is at her power level. She still flees to him when she needs medical attention, something about him just strikes her as the sort who is good at applying bandages...
While young, Evelynn has a level head on their shoulders and is capable to reminding Ivory to take a breather now and then. Ivory also trusts Eve a fair bit simply due to how much she's seen Ivory's much more monstrous form -- however, whether or not Eve's actually connected the dots, or still views it as 'advanced cosplay', is unknown to them.
Ivory is someone that Eve looks up to, since he's a fair bit more experienced when it comes to using Personae. On top of that, they're definitely aware that Ivory has some connection to the mysterious rumours of Seraphs and Demons in Mazehart. They haven't fully pieced together that Ivory is a God yet, though... but this is already a lot to take in, since it's going against Eve's religious education quite a bit.
Kane is a breath of fresh air in the sea of stubborn, power hungry 'employees' that Ivory works with. His reckless, often naive approach to things reminds him a little about how he first handled an incident not unlike the chasms, and occasionally worries that Kane's much more innocent goal to 'save others' might hurt them down the line.
(Also, Kane is the only person who genuinely calls him 'Boss', which, while embarrassing to Ivory, also appreciates the respect.)
Being one of the first Chasms divers Ivory has met, Milana makes it undoubtedly clear that the sudden influx of supernatural monsters has put many on guard. And while he knows that she, among others, are doing it for her safety, he can't help but want to alleviate some of those fears, even if a little.
More recently, Milana (alongside Claude) have been experimenting on the watches that summon persona, and Ivory, always curious, has been actively helping out. While he does wonder if him absolutely not being human effects some of the test results, he figures having a niche case might help to broaden their research.
While they at first keep Claude at a slight distance to avoid him discovering their secret, Ivory, as per the usual, ends up doing the exact opposite. One mishap after another results in nights quietly explaining more and more about what they are -- and after Claude is quick to defend Ivory despite their monstrous appearance, they've come to trust Claude very much. This trust to confide in one another extends further when Claude learns of the rumored 'death' of Sunny -- in an effort to sympathize with him, Claude becomes one of the few to learn that, a few years back, Ivory had lost someone they cared about, too.
When Ivory isn't crashing Claude's place to patch up their wounds and recover as a whole, Ivory visits Claude to test the watches he's been crafting, curious about the sorts of things they can pull off.
Though at first reaching out only to gather information, Ivory slowly becomes friends with Natsumi, and puts a significant amount of trust in her. She's one of the few friends that Ivory can comfortably drop any pretenses around, and appreciates how much Natsumi looks out for him, even if it's hard for him to express it at times.
By the time the Amnesia Incidents have resolved, Ivory considers Natsumi a dear friend -- and because of that, has realized that maybe, for their friend, he'll work harder to keep himself safe.
Natsumi's first impression of Ivory was... not the best, but Natsumi's own ability to read people let her see him for what he is: despite coming across as callous or even rude at times, he does care about other people, and that can clearly be seen through his actions. By the end of the Amnesia Incidents, Natsumi considers Ivory one of her best friends.
She often gives him blunt advice out of love, because a) she knows being subtle... doesn't always work with Ivory b) she cares about him and wants the best for him. This being said, she knows how to read the room, and when this sort of advice is and isn't wanted.
Mika is one of the very, very, very few people that Ivory can admit to disliking, even hating, due to how she treated the demons. He was more than willing to kill her when the time came to it -- and only stopped himself out of the fear that, should he do so, he'd become no better than her.
(Even more scary to him, however, is the fact that, if Mika had come in contact with him much sooner, he may have worked with her more amicably...)
Mika was VERY good at her job, and even enjoyed it--so obviously, she holds some resentment towards Ivory for upending the whole thing. She holds no regret for what she's done to demons, and thinks Ivory is making a grave mistake in allowing them to roam free.
She is struggling now to find a purpose.
Initially reading her works as a means to escape himself, Ivory idly began to send fanmail to express his thanks for the care and heart she puts into her novels. However, after he meets Yoshimi in person, Ivory makes a conscious effort to keep her work life separate -- that the person before him is just as important, if not moreso, than the one writing the novels.
Yoshimi's first contact with Ivory was through his reading of her books and writing her fanmail. She found this touching, but when they eventually met in real life, knowing that she was interacting with a fan of hers amped her anxiety up to a thousand.
While still a little intimidated by him, she finds Ivory very kind, and treasures that he set up a birthday celebration for her. She hasn't had very many friends in her life, and she hopes Ivory considers her one.
Ivory's first interactions with Shun were, to say the least, disastrous. Despite that, Ivory comes to find that they put a lot of trust in Shun, and, of the crew, are the one who helps to 'ground' them the most. Because of this, they're the top pick whenever Ivory wants to escape from the busy citylife that he's still not 100% accustomed to -- bringing them to parks and other 'quieter' avenues that Ivory's far more comfortable in.
Alongside this, Ivory continues to perform small acts of kindness over the course of the game -- and by the end, it finally clicks that maybe....he's been a little too dense on his own feelings.
While Shun's first feelings for Ivory were purely aesthetic attraction, they've come to know and trust Ivory a great deal--the two of them are opposites in many ways, so they make an excellent team. As they've become more comfortable around him, they've also become more comfortable speaking up as a voice of reason for him.
They are frankly a little shocked that he returns their affections, but they make a very active effort not to question it too hard.
Ren had been Ivory's 'goal' in life for quite some time. While Ivory couldn't look like Ren, his subtle ponytail was his way to trying to 'be' more like Ren and, for some time, much of his mannerisms were founded upon the notion of 'what would Ren do?'
After genuinely getting to meet Ren, however, Ivory and him begin to swap positions, and soon enough? Ivory finds that Ren's the one yearning to become him, which surprises and confuses him. This confusion eventually leads them to understand both Ren's, as well as his own, insecurities.
By the end of the game, Ivory decides to work with Ren, and hopes that, together, they can motivate each other to be their best person, rather than be a pedestal to aspire towards.
Ren immediately sees Ivory's potential, and recognizes that he's got a good head on his shoulders. Ren begins to internally compare the two of them--Ivory can fight, and Ren can't--which further adds to his anxieties and feelings of inadequacy.
The two of them end up forming a bond, and Ivory gets to know how human his idol is--which is beneficial for both of them. Postgame, they end up working together.
Ivory appreciates Mei's ability to brighten the otherwise difficult atmosphere that researching the Amnesia Incidents brought on -- and is surprised to learn that she's much more reserved that she lets on. He worries on occasion that she might be pushing herself too much for the sake of others, but trusts that if she needs the time to herself, she knows when to ask for it.
Post game, she's the most likely person for Ivory to scheme party plans and other fun events with (especially if it's in regards to Shun).
Mei cares for Ivory, though she doesn't always come to the same conclusions he does. While she would have put down Paimon, were the decision up to her, she respects his decision not to. She easily catches on to Ivory being insecure, and vocally cheers him on and talks him up as her way of showing support.
She sees his awkwardness, and can relate as someone who was once similar. Postgame, they are metamours through Shun.
Ivory, unfortunately to everyone involved, appreciates Katsuo's company. He enjoys Katsuo's witty banter, the teasing behaviors, and everything in between -- and for a little while, he couldn't quite understand why that was.
But when Ivory learns that long ago, Katsuo had also yearned to become the famous 'pretty boy' detective, they suddenly get it. This mutual understanding -- and perhaps, frustration -- makes Katsuo surprisingly easy for Ivory to drop his mannerisms around, making him one of the few people who get to see Ivory for who he is.
It's not until post-game that Ivory cottons onto the fact that he's got feelings for Katsuo -- and, like with Shun, embarrasses him that it took so long to figure it out.
Katsuo finds Ivory very fun to tease for so many reasons. He gives a great reaction, he's a fan of the pretty boy detective, and he is smart enough to actually debate... the perfect target. As he gets to know Ivory, he sees a lot in common between the two of them, which stirs up some complicated feelings. Katsuo is also one of the few people who will not be impulse control for Ivory.
Somehow post-game they are dating. Katsuo isn't sure how or why.
Once time Ivory found out that Tsubame stole some stuff, and had to send her away for her actions. However, Ivory had a change of heart, and let her roam free - with the hope that the two of them can work together and solve some of the bigger mysteries of Mazehart. He still lets her steal.......some things, so long as she keeps in mind the main objective he's given her.
Though at first she found him to be a real downer, she enjoys Ivory a lot! He's a pretty cool boss in her eyes, and really approves of his mission to try and get everyone to be buddy-buddy. Has very likely inherited some of his reckless tendencies - as if Tsubame wasn't reckless enough - and steals with the explicit goal to give to those in need.
Ivory's selflessness is part of why Tsubame decides to force Lumi's hand, and hopes her boss can respect her decision.
Being a detective as well, Ivory has a loose connection with Isabelle, and sometimes reaches out to her when the cases he's involved in might align with her goals.
Isabelle views Ivory as a respectable detective, and actively wants to follow in his footsteps. She's still learning though, so she's prone to making mistakes - which luckily, Ivory's able to point out every now and then.
That said, after learning that Ivory is some kind of deity? Boy, does she feel like she has some big footsteps to try and follow now...
Ivory, with everything and anything that he indirectly gets thrown into, feels it's his job to make sure that Solstice has a better life. Because Solstice's powers were built from his DNA, he's not effected by them, so Solstice couldn't get rid him even if they tried. That said, Ivory tries not to worm themself too much into Solstice's life, part in due to the other responsibilities that busy him.
Solstice finds Ivory amusing. For being a cryptic deity with with powers capable of even changing law, they sure don't act the part, you know? Because Solstice has some of Ivory's DNA, they consider him a sibling. They're not sure how to navigate it, though, so they've kept their distance for now.
