Hiko is Río's life, his world. He's never felt the love he has for Hiko before; everything about their relationship felt new and different and exciting and there was no one Río wanted to explore the new feelings with more than Hiko. He would gladly be his doormat any day of the week. Considering Río's strong decisive nature and need for independance, him bending over backwards for his husband at the slight inconvience seems out of character, but that isn't the case. The two compliment each other's personalities perfectly without having to change or twist anything about themselves. Río finds purpose and solice in doing what Hiko wishes, being able to provide and protect his familia. He wouldn't be able to face the future without him.

Flirty and adventurous, Río doesn't seem like the perfect companion for chronically exhausted and introverted Yosh, but with his fiestiness and Río's laid-back demeanour, the two make an excellent pair. Río has always gradually tried to ease Yosh into talking to him about more serious matters, but over the years he's learnt that there isn't things that need to be "fixed", just heard. He helped Yosh out of his shell, especially when in more social situations, and acted as a guide and mentor for the more "normal" friendships he'd have.

He and Lucía spent many a summer night running down the streets of Vigo, doing stupid dares and trying not to wake the neighbours with their contagious laughter. They both held a fiercely rebellious streak, which reflected their shared hatred for authority and need for independence. They both met Zyste Creu together, and bonded moreso over hating him together. When Río finally moved away, they thought they'd never see each other again. Their goodbyes were short and casual, neither one of them wanting to make a big deal about it, but when Río's alone, he'll find his thoughts drifting to a warm summer sunrise, and cheersing two stolen beer bottles in the golden light.
