About
Spottdrossel didn't always look the way he does now. He was already rather cold and disintrested before the Brandshock; the Brandshock just made it much, much worse. Due to his similarity in appearance with the Holloan Omni, it was decided that his best strategy would be to go undercover as one of them, and so he made some modifications to his appearance to successfully do so. Funnily enough, his haughty and disdainful attitude serves to only better disguise himself as one of them. On Earth, he and his tether pretend to work with Zone-B; Spottdrossel as an Omni and his tether, Michael Somners, as a Vani hunter. In reality, the two are sabatoging the organization from within.
The irony of ironies happens some time after Spottdrossel has been revealed for what he truly is, and he and Michael have fled from Zone-B. He ends up becoming engoldened, with the mission of wiping out Greyven. As a result, he not only engoldens his tether, but actively works alongside Zone-B for real as the "hero" he once pretended to be in order to achieve said mission.

Boss Fight
When fighting Spottdrossel, the most important thing to remember is that his gasses can block both sight and sound. The best way to fight him is either through scent or some other way of locating him, such as heat vision. Spottdrossel is exceedingly clever; fast on his feet and with a healthy survival instinct. He won't gloat or draw things out like some of the other Vani, but rather will simply go immediately for the kill. Due to his weak spot being his tongue, and Spottdrossel rarely ever opening his mouth, attacking him from a distance is worse than useless, forcing anyone fighting him to do so at close range - right where he wants them. The best way to get him to open his mouth is to either get him pissed off enough to open his mouth to insult you, or to cause enough pain for him to reflexively yell. As a result, any hunter going after him has to be just as quick and clever on their feet as Spottdrossel himself is.
Trivia
1) Spottdrossel means mockingbird in German, and given that Spottdrossel is mimicking a bird-like race of aliens, I felt it was very fitting.
2) Spottdrossel was the very first Fani I ever made.
3) He's intentionally not a perfect mimicry of a Holloan Omni; I wanted a Vani that could mimic the Omni and pass as one of them, but not a Vani that had been born perfectly for the task. Spottdrossel just took what he already had going for him and worked with it.
4) Spottdrossel was originally either a lawyer or a surgeon before the Brandshock, I haven't been able to figure that all out yet. Though unlike my other Vani, what he was before the Brandshock matters very little to his story.
Stygia
[ relationship ] Initially, before his engoldening, he considered her nothing more than scum of the universe for betraying Greyven's cause. Despite her betrayal of the team and causing his second ever mission to end in failure, he doesn't actually hold a personal grudge against her. After, however, Spottdrossel has a vested interest in keeping her alive and on his side - to his engoldened self, she's like the ultimate failsafe for if he fails. That's incredibly valuable, to the point where he would actually do literally whatever it took to force her compliance in using her time travel should their goals diverge. She's not aware of this.
Oblibreo
[ relationship ] Spottdrossel considers Oblibreo an idiot, which has set the other Vani off on multiple occasions, especially since Spottdrossel barely even cares to acknowledge his presence the majority of the time. When they were both sent to Earth, Oblibreo knew that Spottdrossel would be going, but NOT that he would be going undercover as a Holloan Omni. Naturally, Oblibreo ending up attacking him. Spottdrossel still holds Oblibreo in contempt for that even though the incident was entirely his fault. As for when he was engoldened, Oblibreo did at least make it to hear of Spottdrossel's engoldening before being killed by Wodrustchie shortly after, which Spottdrossel consideres the height of irony.
Fallecine
[ relationship ] The first time the two met was on the ill-fated mission with Stygia, though Spottdrossel had heard a lot about the Vani before, and not good things. He's not an idiot, and in his opinion has a healthy surival instinct, and honestly saw no point in challenging him - or other Vani, for that matter - in a pointless display of dominance. Of course, anyone who dared attack Spottdrossel would be eliminated with predjudice, but he didn't go out of his way to kill other Vani, unlike SOME idiots he could name. Spottdrossel respects the fact that Fallencine is just as assured of his own strength as Spottdrossel is of his, given the fact that the reclusive Vani does the same. Spottdrossel sees them as kindred spirits, though he would never admit to such out loud. Such a thing would be unbecoming of a Vani of his caliber.
