Shepherd is a detective that tries to find the truth no matter what (to the point he will sometimes go against the wishes of his superiors if he sees them taking bribes to stay quiet on a situation) he has the ability where if he asks a question to someone while holding his utensil out to them they must answer truthfully which helps him a lot.

Backstory: Shep was given the mission to find out about a sugar dealer- (that being Crab) Crab knowing they were in a sticky situation calls up her brother Ditto and Ditto kills Shep. Luckily for Shep he requested backup before Ditto could take him away and eat him. He was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead. But somehow Shep came back. Now because of this he has a very poor memory (he now keeps a diary so he can refer back to important things that happen) and completely forgot anything that had to do with Ditto and Crab. He knows something is a miss because of his head scar but when he asks his coworkers about how he got it nobody tells him a thing.
