Ursula is an Unovan native who made her way to Magie Village when she started hearing rumors of a town inhabited almost exclusively by female ass-kickers.  It sounded very much like her kind of party.  And wouldn't you know it, it absolutely was.  Despite not having a magical bone in her body, Ursula easily made herself at home, renting out her services to the bars and clubs in town and setting up a private gym where the locals can get lessons in non-magical defense techniques.  Ursula is passionate about self-defense and believes everyone should know their way around their own bodies. She offers classes for beginners that teach bodily awareness and fighting basics as well as private lessons with more experienced fighters who want to practice advanced sparring techniques.  She's a fan and regular at fellow fighter Momoko's gym, where she's picking up some Eastern-style techniques to augment her more boxing and wrestling-oriented skillset. She regularly refers her students to Momoko's Peach Fist gym so they can learn a well-rounded set of martial skills.

While not magical, Ursula is notably durable and there is some speculation that somewhere in her lineage is a Purugly witch.  Ursula's regular engagement in scrapes means that she's a regular visitor at Dr Audette's clinic and she has found a sister from another mister in Nurse B. Sue.  The two can seen reguarly knocking back something pastel and powerful at Magie Village's 108 Stars or enjoying something sweet and delicious at Mme Zorya's Enchan-Te.  (And sure, the cakes at Enchan-Te are amazing, but Ursula can't deny that the real reason she loves Mme Zorya's place is that she gets to cuddle the resident ghost Pokemon.)  During one of her visits to Enchan-Te, she met Mme Zorya's young ward Xata and took a shine to the young brawler.  Xata is now a regular guest at Ursula's gym and is a star pupil.

A handy fighter doesn't go long unnoticed in Magie Village and it wasn't but a few months before roving tracker and adventurer Nika came knocking, asking if Urusla wouldn't mind providing a bit of extra protection on a dangerous job.  Urusla had heard good things about Nika from Mme. Zorya, so had no hesitation in signing up for a little road trip with a side of punching.  It didn't hurt matters at all that Nika paid handsomely and in advance.  Canny villagers know that a "CLOSED" sign on the gym these days means that Ursula's out on a little road trip and will be back soon a little scraped up and a lot richer.  Ursula is an enthusiastic supporter of the people and places good to her, so these trips are often punctuated with gifts for friends, improvements to the gym, and anonymous donations to City Hall.
