Story of seasons AU
Maverick is a farmer who moved to Oak Tree Village a bit before you, and is available from the beginning of the game. They have a reputation for being a bit of a hermit, and seem a little troubled. Despite their loner status they are polite in their interactions and kind-hearted in their intentions.
They can mostly be found wandering around the grounds of their own farm, or occasionally in the wilderness areas. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays between 10:00 and 17:00 they can be found visiting Eda to help around her farm. After Winter 1 Year 1, these visits no longer occur and Maverick will be found in one of their other hangouts instead.

Pokemon AU
A Hex Maniac who just lives out in the woods, or investigates haunted locations or whatever. Not the most competitive trainer but they've p much had battling as a minor hobby for their whole life so their team is strong by virtue of sheer experience. Always happy to battle the occasional 10-year-old when they show up & def goes easy on them to build their confidence(unless they need an ass-kicking more than they need confidence-building).
Team
Trevenant is their starter: oldest & strongest, rarely ever confined to its ball. Xatu is the only other pokemon they caught on their proper childhood journey so isn't far behind Trevenant. Decidueye is a fairly recent addition to the team and there's a noticeable skill gap between it and the other two.
