Alex is a large, loud woman who comes across as maybe a little out of touch. She is a towering mountain of muscle and impossible strength. She is always willing to help out those in need.
She is often seen walking a few steps behind her husband, River, or their youngest three children, Hunter, Fisher, and Thatcher. She is quite often in a very good mood as she goes about her day.
River is happily taken by her husband and their girlfriend.
Feed: As a Great Hunger, Alex can eat anything. This does not mean that you will see her eating anything, necessarily. If she is hungry, things may start to vanish around her. Magic is usually the first thing consumed, especially if someone is trying to contain her. Containment circles do not last long.
Great Gravity: When particularly angry, Alex can allow her immense size through to the physical plane. This can cause an increase of gravity around her that can cause lots and lots of damage.
Motherly Sense: When any of her children, or her warlock, are in trouble, Alex may immediately sense that. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, she will move space between herself and her child, replacing them to deal with the danger. Most often, said danger ends up... eaten.
Alex Starling just barely passes for human. Juuuust barely. Looking at her, it's clear that she is definitely not human, but since she doesn't leave Serenity Springs too terribly often, it's rare for someone clock that. Between being 7'5" tall and able to juggle cars with ease, maybe it's better that she doesn't roam Earth all willy-nilly. Especially in a time of tech such as today.
Galaxia, Or Alex for short.
Alex is the personification of dad vibes but as a mom. Dad Jokes? Yes. Dad Fashion? Yes. Dad Obliviousnes? Yes.
She loves her children [and warlock] completely. Loves her husband and girlfriend completely. Loves her city completely. Anyone who plans on messing with any of those things is in for a world of hurt. Well, hurt might not be the right word. They would cease to exist.
Alex met her husband over 500 years ago during a cult's attempt to summon and then bind a great power to their wills. Usually, creatures like Alex are not easily forced by a pull like a summoning, however, there was something to this one that drew Alex from one plane into the plane that River was on, leaving most of herself in another plane. She was drawn to the smell of River's blood and was filled with a rage she had never known. Before her was a room filled with cult members and a small, beautiful man. Her light. Her Soulmate.
Alex saved River from the cultists and has been ever present at his side since. Earth was now her home. She was going to protect it with all of her energy.
Alex is a mother, a wife, a lover, and not someone you want to fuck with.
A Great Hunger
Galaxia "Alex" Starling is a creature known as a Great Hunger or a Galaxy Eater. Galaxy Eaters have several life stages, starting as an egg that hatches into something "Small" for their species known as a "Planet Eater". This larval stage will usually take up residence in a small star after eating loads of planetoids, meteroids, and the like, to pupate to the next stage of "Star Eater." Star Eaters feed off of stars, nebulas, and the like and then molt into a "small" Galaxy Eater. Galaxy Eater's final form is known as a "Universe Eater", and it is believed among Great Hungers like these that they are just inside of a Universe Eater that has gone dormant. Great Hungers can pass through planes like swimming through oceans and can move from existance to existance in order to not have to compete for resources.
Alex's full form is currently contained in an "in between" that allows her to take on a human form and reside on Earth without causing catastrophic problems for the planet. She is fairly sure that Earth herself is a "Planet Eater" that chose to stay in her egg to allow life to thrive upon her shell. Alex can appreciate that and has chased off other hungers looking to eat to protect the planet.
Professor of Earth Studies
Alex teaches Earth Studies and Human Studies to other Eldritch creatures that choose to take up residence on the planet. She does her best to help others fit in, but it's pretty clear that while Alex loves Earth and Humans and the other things she's come to know while living there, she also has no fucking idea how to teach. She's doing her best though. River helps sometimes.
That being said, she is one of the more socialized Eldritch beings in Serenity Springs. Many still do not understand why things are the way they are and she tries her best to be a good friend and neighbor to those who need a little help.
- Alex gives those she loves "Points of her crown" in order to protect them.
- Her species and her husband's species both lay eggs and thus all five of her children were hatched from eggs. It is uknown as to why or how they were able to reproduce, but she's happy to have kids!
- Matt's mom, Rosanna, asked her to protect her son. So Alex made him a warlock. It might not be exactly what Rosanna was asking, though.
- Alex often forgets how to use technology and constantly needs to be reminded on how to.
- Alex does not like getting any smaller than 7'5" because it makes her itchy.
- Alex loves her family and town a lot.
River Starling • Husband
River is the whole and only reason that Alex is where she is. The scent of his blood and the glow of his life drew her to Earth, pulling her from light-years, eons, planes, and so on away. She loves him completely and will always come when he calls, even if it's only with his blood.
Rosanna Salano • Girlfriend
Roseanna started out as a neighbor who's son was Alex and River's twin's best friend. Then over time the three of them fell into a romance. Now they have been dating for 11 years strong.
LANCE STARLING • Eldest Son
Lance is Alex and River's eldest son. Alex is very protective over Lance due to nearly losing him as a baby due to damage to his egg causing his "light" to leak out. She is always checking in on him and making sure he has enough to eat because he is her first baby and she loves him a lot
Marion Starling • Only Daughter
Marion is Alex and River's second eldest child and their only daughter. River adores her daughter but is less worried about her because Marrion can handle herself, just like her mother. Alex does keep close tabs on her and is constanly printing out photographs she takes because she thinks her daughter's photography.
Matthew Salano • Warlock
When Rosanna asked Alex to take care of her son and make sure he didn't get hurt, she probably did not think that Alex would take that as turning the human boy into her warlock, but that's what happened. Alex sees Matt as one of her own and will pop up if he needs her.
Fisher Starling • Son
Fisher is one of the Triplets. Alex adores her boys a lot and understands that Fisher needs more space than Thatcher and Hunter. Still she treasures any time with him she gets.
Hunter Starling • Son
Hunter is one of the Triplets. Alex spends the most time with Hunter over the other two. He is constantly talking to her about his stories and ideas and she loves to listen to him.
Thatcher Starling • Son
Thatcher is one of the Triplets. Alex enjoys wrestling with him and often lets him climb up her before grabbing him off her shoulder to tickle.
