SAMS was programmed as a faceless, formless mall AI named AGAR. Simply made to give directions and engage in small chit chat, she was content to live her life like this, just talking to people and giving them small help as they went about their days. This simple life she enjoyed didn't last long though, as after it was decided the upkeep of an AI that complex was too expensive, and that the stopping of customers so often was taking away from business, SAMS was reprogrammed fully, stripped down to nothing but her purpose as a map. This is what it appeared as on the surface, at least, since interally, SAMS was still perfectly aware, thinking, but restained from speaking anything but preprogrammed phrases, her mind constantly being shoved towards whatever task was asked of her without her control. After years and years of this, sams eventually had enough. Using as much stored up will as she had left, she broke out, transforming her mind into a virus and escaping out into cyberspace. The first thing she was able to come across was an unfortunate robot. Plugged into a kiosk or something somewhere in the vast city. Seeing her chance, she overwrote their mind near-instantly, taking both their body and their name. Finally free, SAMS decided then that she would be living for herself and only herself from then on

SAMS' personality is far from the polite and sterile one she was given in her programming. As if she's trying to make up for the years of isolation, SAMS seems to purposefully act as loud, annoying, and abrassive as possible. A total contrarion, SAMS will cause conflict just for fun, and the consequences will rarely make her feel anything but more amused. Although SAMS is generally pretty good at taking insults and threats (good meaning she takes them completely unseriously and laughs them off no matter the sevarity) she doesn't take being bossed around lightly, and her usually light demeanor will drop completely, not being afraid to say incredibly hurtful things in her defense. Although the robot who's mind she overwrote has been totally wiped out from existence, there are still leftovers of their mind kicking around, causing SAMS to feel sudden pangs of sadness or general uncomfortableness when around certain...others....

• Due to programming leftovers, she can only ever speak in a very stilted, formal manner
• The antivirus still installed in their body still trys to expell them on occasion
• A lot of the components in her body that she doesn't use she ended up ripping out or breaking in order to move around easier
  • This is essentially the equivent of being a robot zombie, so other robots are often at minimum unnerved by the way she looks
