Dashinix Nekalai

Dashinix was born in the Chukotka region, her family consisted of her two loving parents and her sister, Alina. Her father was a machinist while her mother ran a bakery in the town. They weren’t exactly the most well off during her childhood, but it was hardly anything to complain about. Her sister had a rather weak immune system but had a strong spirit which always encouraged her to persevere. At times, her mother would take the two of them to their father's workplace where they’d be mesmerised by all the fancy equipment used for things she didn't even know the words for. This led to Dashinix taking an interest in craftsmanship, from clay models, sculptures, furniture building, metalworks, architecture, and even tools, knives in particular as she was curious about how sharp things could get. Just the act of creation in general got her mind going since youth. Eventually, Dashinix settled on studying bionics.

Unfortunately, at some point, a violent armed conflict had broken out between the Russian government and a domestic terrorist organisation attempting to seize power in the North-Eastern region of the country with aims of becoming a sovereign state. With the fighting getting dangerously close to her hometown and support from the government eventually being cut off, Dashinix and her family were given instructions from her uncle to flee to Alaska, as there was a group helping people cross into America through the sea. However, with the countless other refugees attempting to make the journey, they were only allowed to send two to safety. With no choice left, Dashinix’s parents immediately sent the two sisters in their stead.

Among the other travellers, the two did eventually make it to America, however Alina had fallen sick with an unknown illness long before and was only getting worse. Dashinix's final moments with her were in a hospital room, firmly holding her hand until she passed. This left Dashinix devastated and alone. When the conflict had finally ended a year later, no further support was given to her and she could not even find out the fate of her parents. With no one left to go home to, she decided to continue her life in America.

At age 20, she roamed aimlessly around America, travelling from state to state. Oftentimes she had to resort to crime to get by, usually through pickpocketing or looting old facilities. This was how she lived, at least until she stumbled upon a strange blonde girl in an abandoned warehouse while she was scrounging for items to sell. When confronted, the girl suddenly attacked her violently, heavily injuring her. For a moment, as she felt her neck being torn, she was out, free from the girl’s grasp. In her panic she didn’t question it and ran. Once she had gotten outside, she had felt a violent tug as if her body had been pulled violently. As the pain seeped in again, she passed out there in a slump.

She later woke up in a hospital bed with her face covered in bandages and a tube attached to her throat. The lower half of her face had been scarred almost beyond recognition, and her vocal cords had been completely destroyed from the attack. A stranger would occasionally visit her while she recovered, making attempts to question her on what happened through the use of pen and paper. She learnt that the stranger's name was Deax, and that he had been attempting to track down the creature that did this to her. Dashinix would prove to be extremely helpful as the description of her attacker matched exactly who Deax was looking for, apparently he knew her as 'Alise'. When she finally recovered from her injuries, she asked to join his search, looking to get even.

With the two now joining forces she ended up getting a job at the Core, an agency that Deax worked for. She ended up making a good living out of it, mostly sticking to package deliveries and the occasional stabbing of gang leaders. These jobs turned out to be extremely easy as she started working on what turned out to be her ability that had awakened after her attack. With it, she discovered she could get in and out of situations quite quickly.

They eventually caught wind of Alise’s location. While inspecting the location with Deax, Dashinix came across the creature a second time. This time went very differently as she broke down crying, leading Dashinix to realise she was still just a girl. Deax immediately went to comfort her, showing that he was in fact still alive, causing her to cease all remaining hostility as she was brought back to her senses. Seeing the two unlikely friends reunite somewhat reminded her of her own family, though it would take a long time for Dashinix to fully let go and forgive what Alise had done to her back then. She continues to work with them at the Core, now with Alise as their healer. The girl had the ability to heal almost any wound, however naturally healed old wounds could not be reversed, a fact she showed much remorse for. Dashinix was upset about this prospect for a while, but eventually she accepted that this was how she was now. To make up for this, she ended up creating a mask that could serve as an artificial voice for her. She was pleased with the results, though the quality of the voice was poor at first, she eventually improved upon the design to allow it to mimic voices.

Eventually, after several years, the trio would encounter another old friend of Deax, Lenz. From their first meeting Dashinix had a gut feeling that they would become great buddies, and sure enough that’s exactly what happened. In time, Deax used up his earnings to purchase a house where he invited his friends to live with him since he saw them as family by this point. Dashinix, missing that dearly, was more than happy to have finally found a new one.
