Tenya Karakuri

The leader of Valkyrie. An eccentric boy who comes off as creepy and less than trustworthy. Tenya enjoys teasing and provoking people to push them to their limit, which unfortunately does not make him popular with most. Though he may take things too far, his intentions are not to cause harm; he simply likes seeing people’s reactions and how they deal with it. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by most insults and moves to his own tune.
Tenya swings between reserved and passionate, and is usually quite openly affectionate with people, sometimes overstepping boundaries. He is quite good at appearing without being noticed, often scaring the faint of heart. It doesn’t help that he has disconcerting mannerisms and says morbid things.
Though he often adopts a carefree demeanour in casual settings, he harbours a great amount of ambition and competitiveness, to the point of overworking himself and his unit from time to time. He has high expectations and has a rather strict attitude when it comes to practice, though he likes to spoil and praise his unit members as well when they do a good job. He has a habit of dehumanizing his peers when his drive gets ahead of him.

Tenya has a mild case of hemispatial neglect and has little control or awareness of his right side as well as anything in his right field of vision, causing him to often bump into things on that side. He has had therapy/training to compensate for this, but when he is not performing, he is more careless and clumsier.

Ever since he was a child, Tenya was a spirited boy who had a great interest in performance arts and classical dance. Coming from a middle-class family, his parents were able to afford to send him to lessons since he was young.
At the age of 11, Tenya was in a train accident which left him with brain damage resulting in hemispatial neglect. For a year after this incident, he refused to leave home, closing himself off of the outside world. Eventually, he started taking his physical therapy seriously and forced himself to take trains again in order to attend Yumenosaki. By entering Yumenosaki, he hoped to reinvent his identity to become someone truly impressive.
