Profile

Leader of Storytale. To most, Kenzou has a pretty friendly and polite disposition and is easy to get along with. While he teases and flirts with people in a very lighthearted manner, he does not form deep bonds with many, maintaining some distance. He’s not really acting, it comes naturally to him; but he also harbours negative emotions that he tries not to let take over. When he’s more casual, he can be pretty childish and petty, and is prone to talking back. He is insecure about his abilities and is envious of his younger brother, Yuuya, who upstages him in most fields. However, he is also protective of him and does what he can to help him out. Every now and then he can say something rather threatening or concerning with a smile on his face. Is very apologetic when something goes wrong, especially when it’s his fault.

Kenzou was a bit of a demanding and bratty child who quickly grew jealous of the attention Yuuya garnered from his parents when he was introduced. As a result, he was pretty dismissive of him and barely ever even referred to him by name, until he accidentally dislocated Yuuya’s shoulder while they were roughhousing. Racked with guilt, he then vowed to do everything he could for him, even if the requests were difficult and unreasonable. They eventually made up, and since then Kenzou still continues to do things on Yuuya’s behalf while Yuuya relaxes on the nature of his requests.

Kenzou is an aspiring writer, and while growing up he would often test the waters with the stories he came up with by sharing them with Yuuya at bedtime. This is why he joined the Theatre Club upon enrollment, so he would have a chance to write their scripts and improve. He also comes up with stories for Storytale’s songs, which often follow a theme or a series, which Yuuya translates into song.

When Yuuya skips a grade to enter Yumenosaki, at first Kenzou is concerned about whether he’ll fit in and if he will be bullied; these fears were unfounded. When Yuuya has officially made it into Yumenosaki, Kenzou is concerned about whether Yuuya will be more popular than him and overshadow him. These fears were also unfounded.

  • Is in the theatre club as a scriptwriter.
  • Often drinking coffee, much to the chagrin of his tea-loving parents.
