Yuuya gives off an air of sophistication and elegance, truly fitting of a prince, to most he is easily approachable and truly meets the expectation of being an idol. In reality, this princely aura is more of a persona he puts up while he is in Yumenosaki, and his more natural persona is one who enjoys horsing around with his family and watching anime and playing games (to his Dad’s dismay).
One could say he’s borderline chuuni due to impersonating the prince in Kenzou’s stories, trying to bring his brother’s writings to life. In all, he wishes to be able to share the joy and smiles he’s learned from his family to others through his song writing. He cares very much for his older brother and respects him, concerned for his well being knowing he could be harsh on himself. Yuuya is a bit of a trickster and a flirt to fit the prince persona, aiming for a mysterious and alluring sort of aura, but when confronted on a one-on-one basis he becomes evasive to hide the fact he doesn’t know what to do after the first move.
Story:
Yuuya is the youngest in his family and gained quite a bit of attention due to this. In his earlier years, he and Kenzou did not get along too well due to a mixture of a pestering younger brother and a jealous elder brother, but that didn’t stop him from prying his way into Kenzou’s personal bubble or space. After accidentally roughhousing and dislocating his shoulder, Kenzou turned a complete 180 on his personality, confusing Yuuya and took this chance to get back at his very mean brother until he realized the guilt Kenzou must have felt for hurting him. He eased off of his requests and they made up, deciding that his brother is someone he wants to look up to and get closer with, not fight and “one up” him constantly.
As they grew closer, Yuuya came to love and admire Kenzou’s writings, wanting to help share and bring it to life he decided to act as the prince in his brother’s story as well as translate them into song for them to perform together. This was another motivation of his to work harder and enter Yumenosaki faster, allowing him to skip a grade. He is a bit oblivious to his brother’s jealousy, but has a small hunch that Kenzou is far too harsh on himself.
