About
Even back at the height of his career, Preston stole his victories. He used bribery and other underhanded tactics to make it to the top, where the public only saw a bright and beaming face. Those he had used were often too afraid to speak out about it and were deafened by the sound of his songs. The few that posed a challenge to him became his obsession; he lived, breathed and sung to dethrone anyone who posed a threat to his career.
Now, Preston struggles with many things that have destroyed his self-worth and career; some of them his fault, some of them not. It's not like he'd ever care to discern between the two anyways, considering he's gotten to this point without ever considering if, perhaps, he caused his own downfall. Why would he? He's Preston Spencer, the famous rockstar, part-time model and King of Synth. It had to have been something else. At least, that's what he tells himself.
He takes out his frustrations on those around him, with Ben being a daily victim of his pent-up malice as he continues to convince himself that he was wronged by every odd out there. But unlike Rory, he was unable to see past himself and attempt to repair them. So, rather than make amends and try to start over, Preston held a grudge.
A very long, heated and dangerous grudge.
Personality
- The previous lead singer of "Margaret Go Home" turned delinquent, Preston may appear suave and collected on the outside, but don't let his oily demeanor fool you. He's as rotten as they come, latching onto superficial desires and belittling others to try and reclaim that sense of importance he lost when MGH disbanded. Preston is fantastic at appearing as more than he really is with very little effort. His manner of speech has an aura of loftiness that implies confidence and carelessness, and the way he walks is no different. He tends to put himself in places he doesn't belong and sticks his nose into private business with his only intention being to be able to spread gossip and stir something up, just so he can feel the satisfaction of watching it all play out.
- Preston, however, is a coward when it comes to saving his own skin. Ratting those around him out comes easy to him due to his MGH history, and he's more than happy to work with whomever so long as he comes out okay. Bitterness and venom have corroded whatever good remained in him, and to see him form any sort of loyalty is rare; to be scared into submission is one thing, but for him to see someone else as higher than himself is something completely unheard of, especially for his gaudy demeanor.
