ISAIAH JOY || THE BLIND PROPHET || HE/HIM || TRANSMASC
Isaiah grew up in an abusive household, making him especially vulnerable to the promises of acceptance, love, and community that Eden’s Gate held. Soon indoctrinated, he travelled gladly across near and far to spread the word of Joseph, a voluntary missionary for the cult – one whose duty was hand-picked by the Father himself, an admittance of the trust they had built in each other – until he was cornered by an especially anti-religious group. Left injured and alone, Isaiah was rushed to the hospital, released two weeks later to the care of another member of the Flock with the news that he would likely never regain his sight, as well as permanent burn scarring across the majority of his face.
He returned to Hope County, where Joseph greeted him with open arms and sincere condolences, and promised that there was a higher purpose to his suffering. He grew closer to the Father after that, far beyond the strange sort of adoration they had held for each other before his unfortunate accident. Though something had changed within him; No longer was he the outspoken enthusiastic missionary. He was quieter now, frightened of what had happened and what was to come. He would see it all on the horizon, just as Joseph had predicted. Now that he was blind, he could see so much more.
He was baptized, reborn as the Isaiah, the Blind Prophet of Eden’s Gate, and serves as Joseph’s second-in-command, successor to lead should anything happen to Joseph, and of course to carry out the Father’s will through any means necessary.
