Naoise

“My name is Naoise Ní—” Before she could finish saying her full name the fey swept up beside her and gently placed a hand over her mouth.

“Child of man, has no one told you to never give your full name out so freely?”

Naoise moved the fey’s hand aside and turned to meet her eyes, “But, if you have it, then you’ll have to take me away! And…” she searched for the words the fey had used earlier, “…and it is mine to give!”

The fey shook her head, “But it is not mine to take.”

An orphaned child taken in and raised by the Arbitrator, an archfey with an ancient obligation to her family. Naoise grew up with a complicated (but not adversarial) relationship with her adopted mother who--while never neglectful or abusive--never saw herself as more than a caretaker tasked with raising Naoise until she was old enough to live on her own. Now as a young adult, Naoise hopes to win her mother's love and affection through professional success. As an (unpaid) law intern, she was sent to the Material Plane to further her studies and to prove herself worthy of becoming a fully-fledged lawyer. However, though she pushes herself towards fey law, Naoise's true passion is clearly in magical tinkering which she has pursued since childhood and is now able to whip up strange but functional arcane creations on the fly. 

Naoise can be impulsive and has a bad habit of concocting and rushing headlong into elaborate schemes involving subterfuge or trickery when the simple solution is almost always just to go up and ask. But, she is earnestly loyal and considerate towards those she can call her friends though she has a bad habit of bottling up and ignoring her own issues in favor of helping to address those of her friends.
