About

Suumi is an upbeat and independent woman who is considered to be a tomboy by many. She is loving and loyal to her family, and (mostly) respecting her twin brother, Suuyu. Always eager to lend a helping hand, she frequently wants to show her worth, which usually worries her father and brother. However, they're proud that she shares her family's dignity and enthusiasm and dedication as a lawyer.
Her optimistic and headstrong nature contrasts the relatively gentle twin brother. Many of her family member shakes their heads at her brother's choices as a Prosecutor (especially when they value tradition and honor over their own happiness). In her eyes, Suuyu is admirable and courageous and she often looks forward to seeing him in action. And even more excited if they're both in court. As a friend, and sister her loyalty is considered one of her strongest characteristics as a person.

• Mimi will sometimes skip lunch or breakfast. But she will never miss a day of dinner.
  > Always down eating a rack of ribs, a nice hearty steak, or even a whole plate of wings. A full-on meat lover.
  > A messy eater, but sometimes she never gets a single stain on her clothes.
• Occasionally would drink coffee if it was given to her (which happens often by her coworkers) but she prefers drinking shakes and/or boba.
• Has a very big tolerance for spicy things.
• Her parents and grandparents were defense attorneys that created a law firm that originated in Japan.
  > Suumi and her twin brother are the first generation (in the family) that became lawyers in the United States.
  > However, Yu wanted to take a different route and became a prosecutor - while his sister is a defense attorney
• Whenever her and his brother find each other at opposite ends in a court happening, they'll most likely be at each other's throats after the case ends.
• Celebrates her case winnings with a glass of champagne and a freshly cooked steak at her favorite restaurant.
  > When she loses, she bullies throws her anger out on her brother for two days. If he's not available, she binge watches a bunch of slice-of-life anime.
• Glares a lot; sometimes it's a habit more than it being on purpose.
• Rarely wears makeup.
• Prefers to wear lightly colors.
  > Prefers wearing suits than dresses and skirts.
• Flirts with a lot of women, especially when she's drunk.
  > Her way of flirting with men though, is bullying them until she's not interested anymore.
• Crushes on people easily.

Backstory

Suumi was born in the Sakurai Family, a legendary line of successful defense lawyers in Japan. And her father, who sees nothing but success and tradition, it was already demanded that Suumi and her twin brother Suuyu to become lawyers. Throughout their school year, she often stuck with her brother until they went into law school... especially when he announced that he decided to branch out to become a prosecutor. Suumi is the only family member who seemed supported of her brother's choices, but it left most of the family responsibility to Suumi herself. So not only Suuyu became a very successful attorney, she also become defense attorney of equal value. It was then it was decided that Suumi would take the Sakurai Law firm into her hands.

Suuyu  [ Twin Brother ]

Suuyu was the first to break traditions of their family by becoming anything else BUT a defense attorney. Mimi has nothing but respect for Yu, but there are definitely times they'd be at each other's necks as neither of them are stubborn. But whenever Suumi hears about Suuyu partaking in a case, she seems hellbent in trying to partake in the same one due to her competitive nature. Regardless, she sees Yu as her best friend.

Emery  [ Friend, Tailor ]

Finding a nice, professional and good quality suit for women is already hard enough. She meets a young woman who seems confident enough in her skills to make her a decent outfit and since she gotten her first suit from her... she became a loyal customer. However, she became her friend after Emery came to Mimi's help when she needed a lawyer to defend her friends involving the Triad predicament.

Alexandra  [ Acquaintances ]

Her and Alexandra had a very brief history... or more of a one-night stand. After spending a few hours with her, she developed a crush on her and soon after Mimi confessed to her. Unfortunately it didn't turn out well in the end, but she understood after she discovered Alexandra's identity - a day after she left the United States. But occasionally she'd see her again whenever Alexandra flies back to the States to see her little brother.

Faith  [ Acquaintances ]

Faith recognizes Suumi as a regular in his restaurants. But what he recognizes her with, was her messy eating habits and her healthy appetite after eating a couple of plates. Faith is happy to see her enjoy his meals, Occasionally they'd get to know each other, but otherwise their relationship is more professional than on a personal level. However, Suumi offers her services as a lawyer to Faith if he's in a predicament and it requires a lawyer.
