Profile
Deep Sea Aurus (Leafy Sea Dragon)
In his home dimension, Soren was something of an up-and-coming guardian. While he wasn’t the most popular (falling somewhere in the middle of the hierarchy), he was generally well-liked because of his personality and his abilities. However, because of where he lived, he only ever encountered aurusalkar. He’d heard stories of the alkarnabi, but the stories were to them like tales of fairies and other tiny whimsical creatures are to us.
He doesn’t remember the circumstances that brought him to be reborn. He just remembers feeling a huge magical disruption, and waking up on the beach.
The first alkarnabi he ever meets is Ranger, who tells him that being an aurusalkar in this world is dangerous. Convinced, Soren tries to take an alkarnabi form, but… he’s not completely successful. Still, he manages to get by as Soren “Briggs” as the pair travel together to West Ridge.

Involvement
Deep Sea
Soren’s egg is recovered by Gereon and his family, then smuggled onto the Copperwing before being placed inside a gift for The Ranger. He hatches on the beach to The Ranger - the first alkarnabi he’s ever met. After a brief conversation, he transforms into a form that appears more aurubi-like and agrees to join The Ranger on his travels while getting an understanding of the world he’s been reborn into.
Wild West
After hearing that a nest has been discovered near Rattler’s Cross, Soren figures it’s his best chance of finding The Ranger again. He travels the desert until he reaches the town. Though he doesn’t find The Ranger, he hears that he’s around. He also meets Oracil, an aurubi who has a history with The Ranger. They work together and get recruited to join the outlaws in the silver mine. At the mine, Soren is initially met with uncertainty, so he fights the sheriff Mesa to prove his mettle. In the scuffle, he breaks one of Mesa’s horns and is nearly buried alive. A starving maydidi bites Mesa and causes enough of a distraction for Soren to escape. Taking the injured maydidi into the mine, he meets Yasen, who’s serving as a healer. When the new recruits are accused of being spies and thrown into prison, Soren tells a few stories of his past. After trading for a key from the nabi Aureus, he meets Yasen again who tells him where to use the key. He finds a captive Silver Digger, who he helps free before continuing the search for the nearby nest. He practically falls onto it, and chooses to protect the nest when he sees Mesa is attacking the outlaws alongside The Ranger’s posse. After the battle, he reunites with The Ranger and his daughter Marisol, and the family returns home.
Stormchaser
Soren attends the twins Ourania and Berit’s birthday party before the strange storm hits the village. He catches a flying Burple and brings him inside Pidge and Gossamer’s house for shelter. When the storm passes, the villagers leave Pidge and Gossamer’s home and are just beginning to clean up when a tear opens in the center of the village. Soren is among the villagers pulled in.
