A dragon of the wilds of Angstrom, elder of his flock and generally chill as hell.  About 40 years ago an expedition of humans showed up in their territory, and instead of fighting or chasing them off they decided to be chill and diplomatic about it, because fighting is a lot of work and the humans weren't actually impacting them too much at first so there was nothing to really stop being chill about.

Curiosity on both sides overcame the weird tension that comes standard with two groups of apex predators sharing space, and they started intermingling and making friends and shit.  The dragons were having fun ogling the weird shit the humans were shipping in and building, the humans LOVED having big flying dogs around.  And then were embarrassed about thinking of them as dogs because the language barrier kept them from immediately realizing the dragons were like, people-level intelligent.

Still, everything was cool until more humans arrived.  The second wave marked an increase in the settlement's expansion and a decrease in inter-species friendship time...mainly because everyone was forced to work extra hard, but the newcomers also just didn't like the idea of letting huge firebreathing beasts freely wander the roads(and being higher-authority, they got their way).  

The dragon virtue of chillness started decaying pretty fast around then, but Zeki was really trying to keep it together(partially because war is shit, partially because he was still trying to maintain some human friendships), but after being booted from their homes and corralled into a fraction of their former territory that was too small to even feed the flock anymore there was really nothing to do but fight back at that point.

It started with just poaching the humans' livestock so they didn't starve and escalated to arson and actual combat, but even with allies in the first wave of humans it did not take long to crush the rebellion, and the dragons were forced to abandon their lands entirely and find a new home.

About 25 years ago, the remains of the flock(and those first-wavers who defected to join them and can't really return to human civilization if they don't want to be executed for treason) found a new place to call their own.  It's more inland and volcanic than their previous territory but it's theirs and they do their best to rebuild on it.

Zeki's friendship with one particular human blossoms into a romance.  And then into a family because they didn't realize gettin it on could even result in a pregnancy.  Everybody else in the flock was kinda weirded out by those two perverts for a while but then Tevy was born & everybody loves that little abomination.  Big happy family.

About 6 years ago they decided Tevyn deserved to see human civiliation, which in hindsight is viewed mostly as a Mistake.  Tevyn got romantically involved with a 2nd-wave shithead's son & caused a shitstorm & left home & it was complete bullshit & Zeki just wants his bby back :(

Currently, they're dealing with yet another influx of humans, and although they kinda promised they would nip that in the bud if it ever happened again these are less colonize-y & more refugee-y so I guess they're neighboring with the Ashborne Witches now?  Actually maybe properly allying with them, maybe if that Ezra mofo takes over the country they can get their original territory back.
