Growing up, River never fully understood their own identity. They always felt like they didn't belong wherever they tried to fit in, and soon they would decide that their gender felt more like a crutch, and they just wanted to be seen as what they are on the inside. So they figured they felt most comfortable as non-binary, never feeling shame of what cute clothing they wore.

River would also discover their love of painting around the same time, capturing the beauty in everything around them, and expressing them into more vibrant and colorful artworks. Their love of painting would eventually lead to a faithful encounter with Sophie, where they bonded over a beautiful field of flowers they both desired to capture in their own respective ways. River would even start to work in modelers into their colorful art pieces, even if they're a bit of a perfectionist and will often take things slow, to the discomfort of their modeler.
