Profile
Andromeda
Princess • Puppeteer • Azumere
Andromeda is the princess of Azumere. One of her many titles is "The Princess of the Damned". Her family has ruled Azumere for centuries, making it one of the most powerful nations in the land. She was raised in a secluded tower, away from the eyes of the peasants. She spent her childhood learning the arts of necromancy. She has become a master of raising the dead, managing to increase their power tenfold. She has used this power to help her family rule, raising her dead relatives to be her puppets whenever she needs to exert her will. Her family has given Azumere a regal image, perpetuating the myth that the nation is a beacon of light and goodness in a dark and evil world. The peasants do not question Andromeda's authority, as it is obvious to them that the nation is blessed by the dead. Besides being a necromancer, she is also a puppeteer and a manipulator. She can use these various skills to her advantage.

Andromeda despises fire. It destroys all it touches; it burns anything it touches. She prefers shaping everything to her desires, rather than destroying it. She prefers ice. It's cold and hard and brittle and it does not burn, it does not care, it does not fight back. She can shape it, she can crush it, she can do anything with it. The possibilities are endless. However, fire is a part of nature, it is a part of the world, and man must learn to live with it. She can direct the fire to do her will, or she can let it consume all that it can. If the fire burns everything, there will be nothing left to shape. So she directs the fire to get rid of that which she cannot shape.
Chess
Chess is a very logical game and Andromeda finds much enjoyment in it. The possibilities are practically limitless. She can play defensively and wait for her opponent to make a mistake, she can attack and attempt to break down her opponent's defense, or she can attempt to finesse a way to win while staying on the defensive. She has taken a liking to the first option. She has always been good at that. She can hold a position that she hasn't been forced to give up, and she can't be forced to move. It makes her feel like she has more control over the situation as a result. Of course, the other options are also very enjoyable. She has never been one to shy away from a fight. The challenge always feels worth it. There is something very satisfying about seeing her opponent squirm. The element of chance always feels present when she attacks. There are many factors to consider and it can lead to some very interesting situations. However, she feels like she has a natural advantage in the game. She has good vision and a sharp perception, she has been trained to see certain patterns and she has good memory. She can calculate the movement of every piece with ease.
Puppeteer
Andromeda spends her life pulling the strings that make other people dance. Except in her case, it isn't always literal puppets she's controlling. More often than not, it's figurative puppets; people who have allowed her to manipulate them into doing things against their own best interests. She pulls the strings that make her "puppets" believe they are in control of their own lives, and the strings that make them dance to her tune. She is a master of deceit and a master of manipulation. It's a skill that has served her well in her life. She has a special talent for reading people and she has been using it to get what she wants since she was a little girl. It's not all that uncommon for her to succeed by using nothing more than her keen observations and common sense. Most people are so busy trying to survive and trying to get all sorts of things that they are blind to the very things she's looking for right in front of them. In fact, it's quite common for her skills to go unrecognized until it's too late to remedy the situation.
- She likes rabbits.
- Her favourite flowers are roses.
- Her favourite book genre is fantasy.
- She makes most of her puppets herself.
- She has a collection of skulls, but nobody knows where they came from.
Dantalion has needed Andromeda's skills a few times in the past. In return, she has been paid generously. Some of her assistance has been worth more than money, though. Eventually, she'll be able to get his help when she needs it the most. She doesn't particularly enjoy murder, but he does.
Louise is Andromeda's best friend and confidante, always by her side through thick and thin. Louise keeps Andromeda's secrets and shares others' secrets, and never judges Andromeda's motives or decisions. She stands up for Andromeda no matter how much it might cost her. Andromeda would do anything for her, even if it means taking a life.
Maris is a sentient doll Andromeda has always been fascinated by. Her ability to sleep is something even Andromeda's most advanced puppets have not been able to do. Yet Maris can sleep through anything. The only way to wake her up is by shaking her. It also only takes a few minutes for her to fall back asleep.
Beaumont is constantly trying to find the key to the Aftermath, Andromeda's mother's final resting place, but he has yet to find it. Andromeda wants him to stay away, to let her mother rest in peace. She is scared of what could happen if he does find the key, and what secrets her mother kept.
