Nicolas Pigpen was a normal pig, destined to die at a meat factory. But he could not accept his fate. He threw a riot and him and 9 other pigs escaped and lived freely and happily. He is their leader and they happily follow him as he is a great and supporting leader who would do anything to protect them. He then discovered the emo sub-culture and  it has been very helpful in him being able to express himself, even rubbing off a tad on his army.
