Physical Appearance

• Medium length black hair, almost exclusively slicked back
• Yellow eyes, originally green while mortal
• Fair skinned and very pale normally; tends to look more lively when he's recently drank blood
• Very tall in height
• Physically fit with a decently muscled yet slender build
• Has leathery black back-wings, but he never reveals them anymore

Clothing Style

Vahlent always dresses professionally, typically always in black business suits with white dress shirts, black dress pants and shoes, and a tie, his favorite color being red. He is rarely seen in casual clothing, since he only does so when at home and he rarely entertains any visitors. He tends to look the same almost every day, especially to the students at the Hateulots schools.

The only known instance in the present day of him wearing something different was after Jack dared him to wear something other than black. So he came to work the next day in a bright yellow and white tuxedo. It has never happened again since, and he'll very clearly deny doing such a thing in an overly sarcastic manner if you ask him about it.

Personality

Vahlent is the eloquent and somewhat mysterious superintendent of the Hateulots private schools for rifters on Taliac. Ever professional and observant, he comes off as rather serious yet somewhat suave. He can be a bit aloof at times and is a bit of an enigma to some of the students, yet Vahlent is always keeping himself busy and prioritizes keeping the schools running smoothly and the well being of the students. He has a cunning and calculating mind, and he tends to conduct all his tasks and activities in an efficient and organized manner. Although he comes off as a bit intimidating at times, especially to newer students, he's actually very friendly and well liked by those who are more familiar with him. Due to his long life he is very wise and experienced, and he does what he can to keep well informed about seemingly everything, so he's known to offer good advice along with being a good speaker and listener in general. It's relatively common for students to come to him with all sorts of academic and personal question since he's a well respected and trusted member of the staff.

Vahlent doesn't really talk much about his personal life outside the school, but it's obvious he is best friends with De Jack Zilvas, and the two have many inside jokes from their friendship and experiences spanning over millennia. Vahlent tends to keep a relatively stoic exterior demeanor, but he shares the same ridiculous sense of humor Jack has around him (Jack is just more expressive about it).

Weaknesses

• Sensitive to sunlight if not wearing a protective charm or using any protective spells
• Needs to feed rather frequently since he burns through energy quickly, which is inconvenient for his lifestyle
• Due to his busy schedule and multiple commitments, he rarely has any free time to do anything but work
• Has a minute amount of Void taint within him that can make him very aggressive when he's too hungry

Backstory

Vahlent was one of the earliest Dyric alive in the new Eternity, and he was close friends with Lord Dalia's other early creations, especially De Jack Zilvas and the Eksel, Vi. He carried out a relatively simple life, following Lord Dalia as he crafted the new world and taking part in his creations. When the First War started with Shana's assault on the Eternity, he was bitten by Dracorluga Demrile during an early attack on Dalia's Court and turned into a vampire. Lord Dalia could not completely remove the taint from his blood, but he was able to attune him to his Lyfe and Lyte energy so holy energy would not harm him like most demons.

Vahlent spent most of the First War recovering from this attack, and after Shana was defeated he assisted Lord Dalia emotionally while rebuilding his broken world. He also provided his best friend, Jack, the comfort he needed while mourning Vi's death. Over the course of time, he and Jack explored the Eternity while helping its denizens, learning much about the world and gaining all sorts of experiences.

In the present day, while Jack uses his powers to work multiple jobs across the Eternity, Vahlent lives on Taliac where young rifters are invited to attend an exclusive private school where the staff and students were aware of the outside world. He serves as the principal of the middle and high schools and superintendent who handles all the overall business affairs. Although he does miss going out on adventures with Jack, he feels he's had plenty of escapades in his past and should share his knowledge and experience with the newest generation of rifters. With Jack working as a band teacher at the schools, the two have plenty of time to keep up with each other.
