Profile

A tiefling walks into the room. The chandelier's flames flicker faintly from what you learned is actually an intentional spell, masterfully cast from a lifetime of experience. He passes by you, and the first thing you notice is the sulfurous smell exuding from him, a sizzle of it flowing from the recently used pipe he proudly holds in one hand. The next thing is how he seems to be covered in bronze accessories, reflecting every bits of light in the room and the cool color of his grey complexion. His long elegantly patterned robes train on the ground behind him, never dirtying for they never saw anything but clean flooring. You think it's peculiar that even with his flashy entrance and appearance, metal accessories going even up to his demonic horns standing tall from his green strands of perfectly yet loosely groomed hair, that he makes no sound as he walks. Through the bronze, a small and fine silver handheld mirror dangling from his hips stands out. Even more so as you could have sworn silver is harmful to tieflings. The mirrors decorating the hall confirmed that he had no reflection, and yet the bronze that adorned him said otherwise. You wondered if that was his doing, the craft of infusing magic into objects, for you knew who the man was. An artificer, the gargoyle, Aurelius Vesel. He suddenly stops his march and glances over his shoulder, locking his gaze to yours. Piercing eyes, yellow like sparks leading to an electric shock, inhuman slits for pupils. You avert your gaze reflexively, but the image burns in your mind. When you attempt to steal another glance a second later, he has disappeared, leaving you to ponder on his calculating and disdainful look, until apathy regains you and you continue your tour.

Sanctuary
1st-level abjuration
Casting Time: 1 bonus action
Range: 30 feet
Components: V, S, M (a small silver mirror)
Duration: 1 minute
You ward a creature within range against attack. Until the spell ends, any creature who targets the warded creature with an attack or a harmful spell must first make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the creature must choose a new target or lose the attack or spell. This spell doesn’t protect the warded creature from area effects, such as the explosion of a fireball.
If the warded creature makes an attack or casts a spell that affects an enemy creature, this spell ends.

With an agreeable smile and effortless charism he hands you a business card, only for it to drop as soon as you walk away. He’s both kind and understanding, and rude and abrasive. Nicknamed "the gargoyle" in the city for his two-facedness and appearance, he runs a small shop as an artificer. He sells inventions, makes custom items and repairs customers' broken things. He has a special liking to steam machinery and bronze. 100% steampunk. Has a reserved attitude, but very flashy appearance, with or without his fashion sense. He wears a thin polite mask that breaks as soon as he leaves regal affairs. He's most often smoking sulfur with his pipe.

His campaign is dmed by L0VEinc, and it's very homebrew so a lot of the setting's lore should be credited to them! He's a seelie, aka someone who doesn't think mortals interacting with spirits is moral or immoral. As he sees it, the world isn’t his to control. As long as those interactions don’t hinder him or his goals, he has no problem with them. Aurelius loves art and cultural events such as art shows. They fuel his inspiration in his machinery work, on which he loves to add unecessary details to add a touch of beauty, and he likes to feel self-important with fancy events. He’s pretty wealthy from his small but thriving business, and he likes being surrounded by like-minded people, aka smartass fancypants.
In Cloud city, it is pretty much essential that you be able to fly. It's a good thing Aurelius has a specialization in gadgets that aid in flight. His cape-wings is his favorite option, but he also has designed several types of flying carriages in innovative forms. Like people say, as an artificer, when there’s a will there’s a way. He keeps himself in touch with the city gossip. If someone is a name known in the city, especially in the scientific circle or in higher class society, he’s definitely heard of them. He makes lots of aquaintances, often with customers, but he has very little actual friends. It certainly doesn't look that way because he works hard to network for his business' sake, but he's an introvert and doesn't enjoy parties or mingling all that much. He does wish he could have more of a sense of connection though. His work is very satisfying and all he could wish for, the only thing he has, really, but still, it can get lonely. Y'know he never really was a fan of having a demonic brand/reputation, but what can one do about it am I right

His fav food/snack is blueberry scones and jasmine tea. Some of his telltale tiefling features include: sharp teeth, leathery skin, catlike eyes, casts no shadow or reflection, exudes a smell of brimstone.

"I know a guy... He owes me a favor after I fixed his carriage even though he was crumbling under debt. He's wealthy nowadays."
"Oh? He got out of debt? Good on him."
Aurelius smirks, sharp teeth displayed proudly for all to see. "No. He made a pact with a demon of Mammon's descent."
