Profile

"Psh, we can handle it. Whatever works, right?"

Cyan is the main character of COLORS

He's normally a very relaxed person despite looking tense all the time, but he gets cautious whenever he believes the situation should call for it. Though he is known to not fully understand the stakes of the situations he falls into, Cyan never hesitates to take some form of action, whether it be fairly pragmatic or completely bashful.

As carefree as he may seem, his goal says otherwise. He wanted to find out the mysterious "disappearance" of his parents and understand their involvement in the Great Color War. Neither he or his sister Rose had an idea of where they'd been for years, let alone a good answer from anyone. The best lead that Cyan had was the institution he'd enroll in for the next few years: Reflection Academy, the resting spot of the Reversal Mirror. Besides his searching for answers and his educational situation, he hopes that being there will at least help him understand why the Mirror is so... important.

Cyan's color is light blue, with his ability being labeled as "electrokinesis". This involves quite a number of things, but simply put, it's really just a technical way of saying "he controls lightning." Besides his given enhanced speed, his more specific utilizations of this ability are unpredictable and remain unknown.

During the period where he was never able to control his powers, he used one of Xeno's beta weapons titled the Type MK-VI: a weapon with the very loose idea of a gunblade. It had a button on the side that activates its energy sword and a trigger that fired lasers from the weapon itself using the user's color. Since Cyan had never known how to properly learn and control his own power, it served as his best form of self-defense.

With the assistance of the GBX-09, he can more efficiently use his electrokinesis powers. Acting as another pseudo-gunblade, it's the final upgrade in its series, carrying over some traits from the MK-VI and its successive versions. What makes it different than all other iterations is that the 09 can be switched between three modes depending on how it's held:

  • Forehand (holding the sword properly, blade forward),
  • Backhand (holding the sword "improperly", blade backward),
  • and Gunblade mode (holding the sword as a sidearm, blade forward).

The handle changes depending on which mode is used, allowing the weapon to be utilized in almost any long and close range situations.

Appearances

In EPISODE 1, Cyan goes to Reflection Academy on Orientation Day, meeting up with Xeno and eventually Ashen, who tells him the actual answer about his parents. After taking a tour of the entire institution with Xeno, he ends up "accidentally" working with the Mirror Defense Team. He was skeptical to join at first, holding the expectation that such a responsibility was more for the Ios Army instead. Eventually, Xeno (and Rose inadvertently) pushed Cyan into getting onto the team. He had only planned to stick around for a short time, but his mindset changed after his "first mission" went wrong, maneuvering his way into taking out No.1 and No.2, thinking that would be reason enough to stop. Unfortunately for him, Rose insisted that they stay with the team, so Cyan eventually decided to continue along and see where this decision of staying takes him, hoping to gain insight on something.

In EPISODE 2, Cyan takes part in the venture to Base Termina, despite being very reluctant to do so. He decides to go because he feels like he'll eventually come across something that he should (or even deserves to) know. The drive to Everjade Forest wasn't easy for him since he didn't get enough sleep, but his encounter during the highway siege woke him up enough to move forward, as well as furthering his proficiency with the MK-VI. However, it wasn't until his run-in with Tenebris that he began to understand the full weight of the situation he had been placed in. While he knew very well that this was not the deviation he wanted from attending Reflection Academy, he eventually learns to "play the part" and understand whatever situation he falls into, no matter how much sense it doesn't make at first sight.

Fun Facts

  • Despite him and Rose being siblings, Cyan has a last name that he would be commonly referred to, with his full name being "Cyan Teal."
  • Cyan's previous hair color was cyan.
  • Cyan is known to be a C-student, as in he's somehow severely average in all of his classes, usually hovering around C's (sometimes B's) as final grades while still passing.
  • Cyan's locker number is 704, possibly eluding to a certain someone's birthday.
  • The design for Cyan's trademark weapon, the GBX-09, was mainly inspired by a keyboard hand rest.
  • Cyan owns a cat hoodie.
  • Despite not being in the Mintverse folder due to his role, Cyan used to serve as a persona.
  • According to... uh... Tomodachi Life's Personality Calculator, Cyan is considered both an Outgoing Charmer and an Outgoing Entertainer.
    • However, that was more based on his personality back then, so this doesn't apply as much anymore.
