❥ PERSONALITY

Yoana is a higly energetic individual and when I say that I mean HIGHLY energetic. Like does she even gET TIRED. She's always full of enthusiam and itching to do SOMETHING, which if not provided by someone else risks her adventurous spirit to kick in. And ironically enough usually these adventures include exploring old abandoned buildings and the likes in search for ghosts. Unlike most people Yoana has very innocent views on spirits and just thinks of ghosts as people like everyone else who just aren't part of this world anymore. In general Yoana is pretty childish and naive when it comes to most things so because of this its best to keep an eye on her so that her curiousity and lack of common sense don't get her into any unintentional trouble. She isn't stupid though! A little slow and again not always the brightest sure but she's not completely dumb and it really gets to her when people assume or think so because of her energetic and childish personality. She just likes to have fun since she's been through a lot in her past.

Along with her high energy though she's also extremely friendly and absolutely LOVES people. She has absolutely no fear going up to and talking to pretty much anyone. She also seems to not always get what personal space is and can be kinda touchy, though more in the sense she'll just come right up and give you a hug instead of a regular hello and things along those lines. She tends to miss subtle cues of discomfort but if you're more visibly uncomfortable or anxious around her at all, or you even tell her something bothers you, she will catch on and try to tone it down a bit. By no means does she want to push anyone away so she's more than willing to try and keep herself from getting too carried away.

❥ CHILDHOOD

Yoana’s initial birthplace is a mystery but for most of her life, the Dainty had grown up on a small strawberry farm off in the countryside in an area that was populated strictly by humans, which made the Dainty’s origins even more mysterious. All that is known is while out tending to the fields one day a very sweet and kind old woman had come across Yoana carefully wrapped in a blanket and resting in a basket that sat gently within the strawberry vines. At first the woman of course tried to find where the child might have come from but after some time with no luck she realized that she would likely have to take the young Dainty in herself. This woman, though older, was still single and also was unable to have children though she had always dreamt of having one of her own so she was more than happy to take the child into her arms.

So from then on the woman became Yoana’s first host and raised her the best she could with what little money she had. When it came to caring FOR the Dainty, Yoana was very low maintenance and only needed a roof over her head, some food to eat, and lots of love to live a comfortable childhood. And all of that she definitely received. Now when it came to looking AFTER Yoana… well she could be a bit of a handful. Even at a young age Yoana had nothing but energy so she spent a lot of time outside helping out around the field and even more so getting into all sorts of mischief. It was never anything too serious, just your usual kid shenanigans that usually left a big mess to clean up or some scrapes to be tended to.

There were some other families nearby as well, most noteworthy being the Hill family which Yoana had befriended one of their sons quite quickly. Jermiah was the oldest child of the family and a very soft and sweet boy as well. He enjoyed spending time with the Dainty because while rambunctious, there was something charming about all her energy. Not to mention the boy seemed to keep her a little more stable when they hung out as well. Jermiah’s family had found it strange that he was such good friends with a Dainty but they didn’t stop him since they were happy their quiet son had a friend.

Life for Yoana continued to be full of fun and adventure up until she had gotten to be about 6-7 years old. At this time her pupil started to develop an abnormal white coloring to it and quite frequently it became red and irritated so she was eventually taken to a doctor to get it checked out. After going through a bit of testing she was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a type of eye cancer sometimes found in very young children. Immediately she started treatment and while the whole process was terrifying and tough on the young Dainty, Yoana had Jermiah there the whole time to comfort and be there for her. He’d visit her as often as he could and bring games, puzzles, and crayons with him so that she wouldn’t get lonely or bored either. The two had already been close before but this just made them grow even closer.

In the end of it all the doctors were able to save her eye however she had sadly lost all vision in it. Adjusting to the new experience of being half blind was difficult but with the support of both her host and Jermiah she was back to being as upbeat and energetic as she has always been in no time.

❥ ADOLESCENCE

Unfortunately, surviving childhood cancer was only Yoana’s first major roadblock in life. By the time she had reached the age of 18 her host was getting up there in age and was looking to move into senior housing. With Yoana still being pretty young the slight panic of needing a new host was starting to sink in. Jermiah had offered to let her stay with him and his family for a bit if she needed while she looked for somewhere else to stay but even with that offer, Jermiah’s family was already quite large so she didn’t want to be a burden. Even though they half lived together at that point anyways from how much time they spent at each other’s houses she still didn't feel okay with it. By pure luck though she was able to come across another solution before having to resort to his offer.

It really was just chance that Yoana had met a photographer named Cody while she was out on the town one day. He had been visiting the area on a business trip for a wedding he was hired to shoot. They talked for a bit and somewhere in the conversation it came up how she was in need of a new host. After a little more time getting to know each other and some other get togethers before it was time for the man to leave, Cody had offered that Yoana come back home to the city with him and she could have a place to stay in his apartment. Cody seemed trustworthy enough, not that Yoana really had much common sense to be suspicious otherwise but she enthusiastically agreed, excited to find out what life in the city would be like.

For two years she lived with Cody in his apartment at the heart of the city. Adjusting to the move wasn't hard at all for Yoana due to her excitement over everything, she found the whole experience thrilling and full of new things to see and do. Everything was all just one big adventure for her and her new host did nothing but spoil Yoana and make her feel welcome in her new surroundings. She even started lowkey considering Cody as the father figure she never really had.

However the pattern of Yoana’s life couldn’t continue on for too long without another big change popping up out of the blue. Luckily this one wasn’t as extreme as those prior. One day Cody had came home from work and brought along with him another Dainty, who he announced would be staying with them for a few nights or however long the smaller Dainty needed. At first Yoana was a little skeptical but since it was just a few nights she didn’t really mind. But then those few nights of them staying turned into a new member of the household, and that she wasn’t to fond of. Yoana really had never been in contact with another Dainty all her life since she had grown up in a town where she was the only one, so she was admittedly a little jealous and unwilling to share the attention of a host for the first time ever.

The longer they stuck around and the two got to know each other though, Yoana started taking more of a liking to Cas and had realized that Cody still really didn’t treat her any different than he did before. So she came to accept that her grudge against the new Dainty was silly and pointless so she tossed it out the window and has moved on to befriending them instead. She bothers them to no end at this point but the two still get along mostly, forming a nearly sibling-like bond with one another.

❥ TRIVIAS & FACTS

❥ JERMIAH

Childhood Friend - Yoana and Jermiah have been friends for nearly both of their whole lives. Growing up they were rarely seen apart and even now that they are apart, they still make an effort to see each other over the summer or during a holiday throughout the year. They're extremely close and Yoana is very thankful to have had Jermiah when she was going through cancer treatment espeically.

❥ CODY

Host - Cody practically treats Yoana as if she were his own child. She just has this charm to her that he can't resist and so he spoils her rotten with things she doesn't even ask for just because she's cute and exists. Yoana on the other hand sees Cody as the father figure she never had previously. He takes really good care of her and gave her a place to stay and she very much enjoys being around him.

❥ CASPIAN

Roommate/Friend? - Yoana didn't really like Cas at first but has since realized her reasoning for that is silly, so now instead the two have gotten to be rather close and share a sibling-like relationship. They're there for each other when in need, but that comes with Yoana pestering Cas to no end and dragging them into her shennanagins as well.

❥ CYRIL

Friend - Yoana met Cyril just before Cas moved in. He was a big help in comforting her during her initial jealousy but even with that aside he still looks after her and is one of the many mom friends she has. Cody trusts him a lot too in looking after her for him since Cyril is also sure to keep Yoana out of mischeif or from going on any of her crazy ghost hunting adventures.
