She was born outside of the clan, her other parent was from a clan where their totem is a spiritual bird. When she was young, she was very competitive with the students, she realised why when she found out her true origin. She ran from home to join her native clan, she was a quick learner and was top of her class. She had also the star element, a rare element only nobles and royals have. Because she was old enough, they had to acknowledge her power. One mission she went on with her team had her carry the team alone after a trap injured more than half their teammates.

She got her nickname ghost after a mission where she appeared out of nowhere and killed a bunch of drunk high level generals. Unlike other kunoichis, she is more attack rather than support.

She became a jounin after recommendation from her teachers. Aki was known for being one of the most powerful shinobi, her codename was ghost. After she joined the war she had became a hero and a popular face amongst inspiring shinobis she was assigned a team consisting of Shibuki, Daiki, Nemu and Sumire. She was quite close to her students, helping Nemu with his lack of confidence, making sure Daiki doesn't overwork or overplay, she helps Sumire with cultivating her technique even if she wasn't good at healing magic and supported Shibuki as a leader.

When Daiki and Nemu became a jounin, a battle broke out, almost killing Daiki, Shibuki became skeptical about the system the shinobi was in. In hindsight, getting children to infiltrate and kill was a red flag itself but of course they didn't know what they were getting themselves into. By the time Daiki recovered, Nemu had followed Aki and defected. At their first encounter, Aki did seem like she planned on killing them but a coincidental landslide saved them.

Aki and Nemu managed to disguise themselves and infiltrate with new names and backgrounds, An and Nara respectively. They fight using magic and chase down ninjas away from the capital. Turns out, Shibuki manage to sneak in and realise the possible motive of his teacher. It was the princess, Shibuki knew that those who belonged to the hoshi clan had a special ability not many people might notice, which was their eyes do not reflect stars into their eyes.

In order to bring her back to her clan, they will need to get the royal family to relax and Nemu was charming his way into the princess' heart. Aki had also been learning the Marshal's and General's moves by heart, she also knows the layout of the castle by hand and their escape was flawless. They were invited back because shinobi is based on deception and the punishment wasn't that bad. While they were under 'house arrest' Aki went on a date with her rival in school and grew closer to him. But before they could get their happy ending, there was a threat to their peaceful balance.

The king was enraged and prayed to the moon goddess to help him bring his daughter back. It worked but she was held against her own will as she was enjoying her new found freedom and relationship with Daiki. Nemu infiltrated the moon goddess' base but was caught and had to flee, at this time Aki was also in a pickle as the moon goddess had descended and led a direct attack that brainwashed their people.

Only Aki had the star element that can protect them. So it's their team against a goddess that can not only knock them around with her finger but also bend reality to her will. Through deception, the core of a shinobi, they were able to trick her into turning the ground into metal, though the gravity was affected, Aki manage to use magnetism to repel them from the ground and with a huge force, they sealed the moon goddess into a scroll.

Though it's entirely impossible to block the moon from brainwashing them again, they had send a squad to clean up the moon base, many fled to earth but a lot of them were killed. After an era of peace, Aki finally got married and had kids. Aki was still being sent out on missions, more often than her husband, she was also fighting when her kids all had became promising shinobis.
