Yuuma lives a nomadic lifestyle, drifting between Aurora Land and his homeland of Ethia. With nothing to tie him down, Yuuma travels around, seeking to learn more about himself and the land of his species. To earn the money he needs to find such a journey, Yuuma bakes, cooks, and offers lessons where he can. He also sells his illustrations from time to time but prefers to keep his art for himself or as a gift to his loved ones.

LWhen he's not travelling from landmark to landmark, Yuuma spends his time getting to know other Kamishiba, making friends, and learning the history of Aurora Land. His circle of new friends is spread wide, encompassing not only the common Kamishiba, but thieves, mercenaries, and even nobles. Often he can be found in parties of all kinds, always given an open invitation to any ongoing events.

Yuuma was raised in Caveheart, Ethia - a strange place for Kamishiba to grow up but Yuuma never knew any different. Sure, he realised he was different to the other children in his school, what with his feathery wings in place of fluffy ears and lack of circling crystals to aid in his life. But Yuuma was never alienated because of his differences. If anything they made others gravitate towards him. Yuuma never had to look far to find friendship or romance.

He had a family who loved him dearly, a circle of friends wider than most ever saw, and a mile long line of suitors. Yuuma had everything anyone could have ever wanted. Yet he wasn't satisfied. He was happy, of course, he knew how lucky he was. But something felt… off.. not quite right. It was like an itch under his skin that he couldn't quite scratch.

It wasn't until Yue's boyfriend dumped the smitten Shourinokobi to ask him on a date that the reason for his restlessness came to light. He was tired. Tired of being an exotic trophy. Tired of Shourinokobis trying to get close to him just because he was different. He was tired of being set apart from the rest and placed on a pedestal. Tired of the ones who truly cared about him getting hurt by the ones who saw him as nothing more than a beautiful oddity.

Yuuma left Ethia not long after this revelation, surmising that the easiest way to stop being so exotic and wanted, was to simply turn to a place where others of his kind lived. The change in culture and lifestyle came as a huge shock to the Kamishiba. He found it harder than he had anticipated to be accepted. No longer could he rely on his magnetic attraction to draw others into close relationships, Yuuma was finally given room to show off his natural charisma and other skills.
