Whether he likes it or not, Tevlen is now nothing more than a servant and a mere henchman. He spends his time carrying out Bastet's wishes - regardless of his own - or merely waiting for her orders. He cleans, cooks, and kills as she orders.

Things in the mansion have been less lonely since Skyla was 'hired'. The Young Kamishiba gives him someone to talk to, a friend to relate to. Someone to worry about.

Tevlen was born in Ethia, or so he's told. He was adopted by a travelling Clan of many different species and raised as one of their own in their traditional way; by the whole Clan. The Clan was small and there was only one other child his age; a Kamishiba named Artemis. The two fledglings were inseparable; training together, eating together and hunting as a pair. The elder clan members scoffed at them fondly when the two fledglings would come back from a hunt a little worse for wear. Their constant trouble making was typically overlooked by the clan members purely because of their effectiveness as hunters, no one brought back more than the two of them. One day, while the two were on a hunt, a Lopdiemis attacked their Clan. The two hunters returned with their spoils to a charred and bloody camp - any survivors had long since fled. Tevlen stood guard in case the Lop decided to return while Artemis buried and honoured the dead that remained while also gathering up any salvageable supplies. By nightfall, the two left their camp behind and the life they once knew for good.

It had been Artemis' idea to join The Answer - she had always been the unspoken leader. Tevlen understood her silent reasoning and agreed to go, even if he didn't feel the same. Perhaps it was because he was a Shouri and not at risk of possession but Tevlen did not feel the same anger towards the Lops that Artemis did, instead he merely mourned the loss of those he once called family. But he still had Artemis and he would never leave her side. Training in The Answer was brutal but the two were strong and got through it together. They were split apart almost when their training finished; roomed together but Artemis was sent to work under the Shadow while Tevlen was sent to work for the Knight. Things were peaceful for the most part, Tevlen and Artemis were as close as ever and had even managed to befriend another young Shouri, Griffin, the daughter of The Answer's leader. As time went on, Tevlen grew closer to both females, particularly Artemis who he was certain he was falling in love with. Griffin seemed to share his sentiment and was also falling for the sparky Kamishiba. But then, out of no where, Artemis lost her spark and became quiet and withdrawn. Tevlen and Griffin begged her to open up and eventually she did. Her last mission had been one of interrogation and the manner of torture that she had been forced to use and witness had left the usually bright Kamishiba feeling sick to her stomach and wanting nothing more than to escape. The three of them shared the desire and started to formulate a plan that was flawless. But Tevlen found himself doubting Griffin's loyalty. Being the daughter of the leader he couldn't help but feel she was playing the double agent. He confessed his doubts to Artemis who while didn't doubt their friend like he did, agreed to leave earlier and without Griffin. As they made their escape, they ran into Griffin. The younger Shouri didn't try to stop them but her hurt was known as they were barely out of the castle before the forces of The Answer were set upon them. The fight and flight was intense, Artemis and Tevlen barely made it to the Gloomy Forest alive. In the twists and turns of the forest they were able to hide but they would never reach their goal; the Aaro portal, before The Answer caught them again. The chase was weakening them - Artemis more so than Tevlen - and The Answer was slowly closing in on them.

But when all seemed lost, a Lopdiemis appeared. Thankfully, Artemis was asleep when she arrived but the Lop had an offer for him. It was simple really; a life for a life. She would stop The Answer's pursuit of them, in return, Tevlen would serve her for the rest of his life. The offer was too good that he couldn't reject it. The Lop kept her word. Within hours The Answer's presence in the Gloomy Forest was gone and Tevlen and Artemis were free. But he didn't get a chance to celebrate her freedom. For Artemis had fallen ill, gravely ill. He barely had time to say goodbye before her light faded. However he couldn't rest, he had a bargain to uphold.
