Stats
A tall, intimidating, and quiet mercenary with a mysterious past. His goal in life is to aid and serve others - to help them accomplish their own goals within reason. He does not serve the greedy or the cruel, and he often accompanies those who are alone. He is a powerful and loyal ally who doesn't backstab or abandon his companions.
Treat him with kindness, and he shall do the same. Be cruel to him, and he'll be just as cold. If someone does something nice for him, he'll return the favor on another day. He often returns to those who have a good heart and tends to travel with them longer.
Betray him, however, and you have an enemy for life. He takes trust and faith in others very seriously, and he's not exactly the forgiving type. Mal is fairly good at holding grudges and will remember any breach of trust forever.
Mal is not emotionless; he's just very good at controlling his emotions. He will still show a bit of emotion here and there. When he begins to feel annoyed or upset, he warns people with an angry huff and may attempt to nudge them away with his tail.
"I will protect you."

Nothing to see here!
Malchar is a tall, muscular Sima. He has orange eyes with slit pupils and yellow sclera. His off-white horns are long and curve upwards, fading to black at the ends. He has smooth, short fur off-white fur with a black hooded marking over the front half of his body and black back paws. He has white, pointed markings over his horns, face, and neck. The white marks on his muzzle almost resemble sharp teeth. His tail is very long and ends with a jagged tail guard and teardrop-shaped fire jewel that fades between orange to black. There are red, pointed markings over the tail guard and base of his tail.
Mal's impressive bull-like horns and long whip-like tail are not just for show - he makes excellent use of them during battles. His horns protect his skull from heavy blows and serve as weapons when he charges, and his tail can be used to trip up and lash at enemies who get too close. If all else fails, he can use his fire magic.
Malchar wears a golden nose ring and a large golden ring earring on both ears.
In anthro, he does wear heavy plated armor and rarely wears casual clothing.
Malchar has immense physical strength and can use fire magic.
- Malchar can summon walls of flames using his tail jewel.
Malchar is a tall, intimidating, and quiet mercenary with a mysterious past. His goal in life is to aid and serve others - to help them accomplish their own goals as long as it's within reason. He does not serve the greedy or the cruel, and he often accompanies those who are alone. It is unknown why he does this, but he always states it firmly and without hesitation when asked.
He is powerful and loyal, so it's in people's best interests to be his ally instead of an enemy. He'll promise not to back stab his companions or leave them in a ditch.
As a friend, Mal won't say much, but you can trust that he'll be there in a time of need. He'll stand by your side and fight for you until the very end. Most of his relationships are based around little communication and more on action. He allows his actions to show more than his words; he doesn't need to tell someone that he'll protect them - he'll just do it.
In order for someone to befriend Mal, they have to show him that they are willing to aid him. Treat him with kindness, and he shall do the same. Be cruel to him, and he'll be just as cold. If someone does something nice for him, he'll return the favor on another day. He often returns to those who have a good heart and tends to travel with them longer.
Betray him, however, and you'll have an enemy for life. He takes trust and faith in others very seriously, and he's not exactly the most forgiving guy. Mal is fairly good at holding grudges and is unwilling to stick by those who break promises and destroy his trust.
When you have wronged him once, you may as well have wronged him forever.
While Mal doesn't bother to hunt down people to the ends of the continent, rest assured that you've lost a very valuable ally and any of his future cooperation.
That, and you'll suffer his silent wrath for all eternity, which is somehow worse than his normal intimidating silence.
Mal is not emotionless; he's just very good at controlling his emotions. He will still show a bit of emotion here and there. Maybe a small grin or maybe an expression of shock when something unexpected happens. He'll be sure to let people know how he feels if they ask, and he'll definitely let them know when his patience is reaching its limit.
When he begins to feel annoyed or upset, he warns people with an angry huff and may attempt to nudge them away with his tail. Persisting after the first warning isn't recommended.

Malchar doesn't have a permanent home and wanders around the mainland from town to town, only staying at inns every once in a while. He prefers to set up camp in secluded places and sleep under the stars or in the cover of tall trees.
If Mal is traveling with someone, he'll let them pick where to stay and takes over for night watch if they are camping out.
Malchar doesn't like talking about his past and doesn't feel that it's necessary for anyone to know.
Malchar is a mercenary who had grown tired of his murderous ways. After a heavy betrayal that tore his heart apart, he turned away from his dark past and began helping others along the way. To see others fulfill their goals and dreams has granted him much more happiness and satisfaction than hurting others ever has. For what he failed to accomplish in his life so far, he tries to make up for it by lifting up others.
He has found a better purpose in aiding those who are on a journey to their own happiness, and especially those who want to make changes in the world for good.
As for himself, Mal is not sure if he deserves a happy ending after all his sins. Deep down, he knows that no amount of good he does or people he saves will ever redeem him from the lives he has already taken - and will continue to take as a working mercenary.
Mal and Peikoe aren't quite friends, but they're also not quite enemies, either. They've chosen to remain neutral with each other, for the sake of not making any new and unnecessary enemies. He stops to rest at Peikoe's teahouse sometimes.
Read more...Mal has always felt uneasy about Peikoe, but he isn't quite sure why. He does suspect that the Sima may be hiding something from him...
Malchar and Veil maintain a rather odd friendship. Despite partaking in conversation quite often, Veil is always out of sight or exchange is done almost entirely through letters and messengers. Thus, Mal has never actually seen Veil in person.
Read more...Mal has no face to put the name to, but he also does not question it. After all, it's none of his business, and the wise king must have a reason for doing so.
Malchar considers Beshil a good friend. They travelled together at one point, and he wouldn't mind traveling with him again in the future.
Malchar and Mercury are sparring partners who help keep each other's skills sharp. While he never says much, Mal does really appreciate her company and is glad to have found someone else who shares his enthusiasm for the art of battle, even if he's already set his past far behind himself.
