Dives is extremely reserved and rather tightlaced. Despite his career, he is seen as rather antisocial and prefers to spend his time in solitude. While he acts kind and charitable to those he works with he can be rather aggressive and defensive to those in his personal life. He takes everything personally and is oversensitive which can display itself in anger.

Dives was born out of a failing marriage between the CEO of a French perfume company and the second son of a rich heir. The two hated their son, him only being a reminder of the other person's failures. Dives was violently abused by his father and neglected by his mother. His father also named Claude was a sleazy alcoholic who would commonly bring strange women to their home while his wife was working. These women would occasionally make unwanted advances on Dives, This with his father's abuse made him grow paranoid and afraid of physical touch.
Dives’ paranoia and aggression made it hard for him to make friends, thus causing fights and never making friends. When he was seventeen he moved to Tokyo, Japan because of his mothers work. While there he met two women, Avery and Ania who became his closest and only friends. The three are inseparable. Dives plans to stay in Japan even if his parents don't.
As an adult Dives found solace in the church. Even if he didn’t believe in the words spoken it was a place he could escape his abuse and his aversion to touch was deemed normal. Dives became a priest trying to live the rest of his life without issue. When he was 36 a notorious cult was broken up, and the seven children of the leader were displaced. Dives ended up adopting one of the children, trying to start a new leaf. Yet once he learned exactly what the child did in the cult he grew terrified of him, disgusted with his behavior. Any relationship between them was soiled. Dives continued to raise the child yet his disdain was evident.
Once is the closest friend Dives now finds himself avoiding thinking about her. He regrets losing contact with her, yet meeting her once again only made him wish she stayed stagnant in his memories.
Dives lost contact with her soon after they moved from Japan, they don't talk anymore, and hes not sure he wants to
Repulsion. He didn't feel it for him at first, he loved his adoptive. He thought he was bright and brave. Until the curtains were lifted. Dives could only see his own father when he looked at the promising young boy.
