Child of a human father and elven mother, Juniper is a half-elf. Their mother was a Wood elf, and their father was a human residing in the nearby plains. Juniper, their parents, and their older brother now live at a midpoint between the deep forest community of the local Wood-elves and the humans of the plains. They live fairly secluded from the outside, preferring not to bother themselves with the affairs of others. As a half-elf, Juniper has the advantage of appearing human to humans and appearing elvish to elves. Their mother also taught her common elvish tongue, which aids them in elvish relations.Apothecarist's Daughter
Juniper's mother was a druid in her youth and, as such, she taught Juniper in the druidic field as well. The knowledge Juniper has about the forest around her makes her a proficient gatherer, and early on in her youth, she found talent in making tinctures and salves from the materials around her. She is still a child, however, and her limited knowledge of various plants and environments means that she has a very limited scope of recipes. When she was younger, Juniper met a wise mage from the southern village. He told Juniper's mother that Juniper held great magical potential, should she wish to develop it. Now, at age 16, Juniper has set out to make her own destiny, starting with finding that magical man! He gave her his card... too bad it's written in... uh... what is this, draconic?Personality
Juniper is quite the character! They're an independent and idealistic thinker, and when there's something that interests them, they throw themselves into it whole-heartedly! However, Juniper's independent and driven mindset often gets her into trouble. She's fairly hot-headed, and she tends to erupt at people when she feels ignored. Juniper is fairly insecure about their height and general stature relative to others, so she always quick to make herself a large presence. Her quick wit and aggressive attitude can be off-putting, but her aggressive appearance doesn't last long. As soon as they have assured themselves that they're being taken seriously, Juniper can slip into their more aloof state of being. Juniper is naturally distrustful of others, a side-effect of a relatively secluded and sheltered youth. However, Juniper's loyalty is unwavering, to those they feel are worthy of it. Still, Juniper is very young and naive, and only something like an adventure that takes them out of their comfort zone and forces them to meet new people and places could change that!History
Juniper was born a second child of a human man from the plains and a woodland elf of what the local villages refer to only as "The Bauemar". Growing up, Juniper had very limited contact with either humans or elves, aside from their older brother. Her parents made a decent living as independent artisans, and their work was very well-renowned, drawing in many customers despite their location. Juniper grew up in the outskirts of The Bauemar, and it was the frequent passage of humans, elves, dwarves, and other races too and from Juniper's house that began a reconstruction effort between the local humans and Wood-elves of the area. Aside from her brother, Juniper had very limited connections to other children her age. Instead, she frequently spoke to young adults through elderly people of various races and classes, helping run the shop in her younger teenage years. At first, many customers she would serve would look at her with apprehension and disbelief, but her constant professional and mature attitude (despite her inward anger) soon made her a very reputable apprentice apothecarist and potion-seller.The Bauemar
Juniper, nor most other non-woodland elvishfolk, knows much about the Bauemar. Despite living in the outskirts of it, Juniper's own knowledge of the ins and outs of the Bauemar is still less-than-perfect. Only Juniper's mother is allowed to venture into the heart of the Bauemar, where most of the wood-elves reside, and even then she is only allowed to visit. Juniper's family began to attend to their first clients from their home after one particularly brave human woman came knocking on their door, covered head-to-toe in bruises, and asking for help. She was the first non-family member Juniper had ever seen at their house. Typically, Juniper would accompany their older brother Rowan on expeditions to the human villages nearby to sell their elixirs, salves, remedies, and tinctures. However, after the brave woman had come to them for help, Juniper and her mother created a safe pathway from outside the Bauemar to the halfway point, where Juniper and her family lived.Links
Vivian [ best friend ]
As much as Juniper hates to admit it, Vivian is the closest person they have to a family, aside from their family, of course! When they met, Juniper had assumed Vivian was humanoid of some sort... but now, Juniper isn't really sure what Vivian is. But... she's a friend! Well, she is a friend, but... Juniper has started feeling like Vivian is something more to her as well. Juniper can't put a finger on it, however.

She can't quite put a finger on where they met, exactly. Maybe they bumped into eachother? Maybe it was just a dream? Either way, Juniper feels a sense of comfort in her presence!
Rowan [ brother ]
Juniper's brother! He's a couple of years older than Juniper. Rowan says he wants to take up farming, have a simple and noble profession, and care for his family. But, knowing Rowan, he'll probably leap at the first chance to journey on another adventure. In the few weeks leading up to Juniper's 16th birthday, that was all he talked about! "When I was your age, I had a whole team of blah blah blah," "...the townspeople called me The Dragonslayer of Whateversville."
