Over the years, Charlie never lost his kindness and joy in making others smile. Although on stage he acts confident and cool, he has a soft spot for his audience and loves getting to know them. Along with that, he's as hard-working as ever and has his poor life to thank for teaching him not to be lazy. Each waking moment he's trying to figure out new ways to improve his act and the circus as a whole.

That being said, he also never lost his tendency to not reach out for help when he needs it. In fact, it might as well be worse now as he tries to work himself into a good leader archetype. To keep appearing strong, he still bottles up his stresses, even from the performers he'd worked so long with- including his wife- whom he feels need someone to look up to. In reality, however, the worries of the circus one day falling apart lay heavily on his mind.

Appearance

Although his stature and most basic features remain the same- light skin, brown eyes, brown hair, etc, Charlie otherwise changed quite a lot. Instead of the mostly straight, poofy hair he naturally had, he now sports a frizzy perm that is shaped like a small afro (he's heard the clown jokes before already). He also has a gold hoop earring in his left ear. The fake wings he wears the most often are white in color aside from streaks of green, blue, and red running near the edge of the top wings and larger black squares on the bottom wings. The pattern is the same on both sides. They're slightly more rounded than his real ones and are optimized for good aerodynamics.

More changes can be found in his style, and although his casual outfits are already pretty stylish now thanks to his new money, his outfits when performing are the real deal. His main one consists of a brown leather fringe jacket with four diamonds near the front with yellow and red fire patterns and a white 4 on the back where the pattern continues. The jacket has white cuffs and he often has it open allowing his bare chest to be all out on display- you're just gonna have to roll with it. He also has white bell bottoms, a black belt with a golden butterfly on the buckle, and black shoes with a silver hoop on each zipper. His wedding ring is thick and gold with a smooth jade in the center.

Before the time skip

Five years prior when the circus was still new and much more humble, hope finally seemed to rise when they recieved an invitation from Amnesty Sue, a very famous performer, to act in front of her for the opportunity of getting into her circus funding project. Not only would it help the circus, but Charlie would finally be able to afford the treatment for his brother, Fred. At the time, he and Eloise hadn't shared their feelings yet and he had a deep celebrity crush on Amnesty. All in all, they seemed to have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

On the night before their performance, however, Fred had another severe attack and Charlie was once again helpless. It seemed like his beloved little brother was closer than ever to death. As such, he pushed himself hard the next morning to make his act his best one yet. At the end of his act, however- the last in the performance, disaster struck when Charlie's wings suddenly caught flame. He was too high up to land safely and ended up falling several feet before Amnesty managed to break his fall. Although he was merely unconscious, his wings had burnt almost completely off. That same day, all but four small nubs were amputated at the hospital. He understandably panicked upon waking up and ran to his home where he'd break down in front of Fred. For a while the rest of the circus would leave him be, but just before, Eloise had broken her promise with Charlie and told Amnesty about Fred's condition.

The next day, the members would recieve news that Amnesty had accepted them into her project and would meet up with them in a few days time. Although they were all mostly ecstatic, Charlie especially feared he could no longer perform due to his lack of wings. Upon meeting Amnesty who'd first congradulate them on their success, however, Charlie would also be gifted a pair of prototype fake wings, becoming a subject of the prosthetic's development. He and Eloise would also finally confess their love for each other, and from then on, all their lives began to improve.

Leading until now

Moving with Fred into Eloise's apartment temporarily, Charlie was unsurprisingly haunted for a while by the incident that made him lose his wings. For a short time he actually developed a fear of fire- the very thing he once used for almost all of his performances. It ended up being hard for him to hide this time around when he shyed away from using it as they began to slowly practice again. In a breaking point, he also broke down at the mere sight of a small fire in their apartment when a cheap appliance malfunctioned. This was one of the few times Charlie, sensing the urgency of the situation, reached out for help from someone, that being Eloise. She helped him slowly overcome his fear and, upon soon recieving his next upgrade of wings which had reached the point of being as good as his original ones, he returned to using fire once more.

Two years later, the popularity of the circus had begun to reach beyond their home town. This eventually led to their first new member following them joining Amnesty's funding project: the mighty Quinn. Oddly, he came from far away and asked rather unannounced to join the Holley Circus. Nevertheless, they pretty gladly accepted him upon seeing the puffin's immense strength. He quickly became a favorite of many fans as he soon appeared with his own act among their performances. At this time, Fred had become healthy to the point where he no longer had attacks, much to Charlie's joy. He would still require taking the treatment every month, however, and possibly for the rest of his life.

Then, only three months before now, they'd recieve one more member in the form of Narida Bekstreska, a struggling model looking to kickstart her career. Although she also brought some performing talent with her that the audience enjoyed a lot, she didn't exactly blend well with most of the other members due to her somewhat pompous and stubborn attitude. This was only one small reason among many that the circus began to have rifts following her joining it. The members began to argue pretty frequently about creative and business disputes. Although Charlie tried his best to stay out of them and calmly break them up when he could, his stress got to the point where he started having uncharacteristic outbursts. Still, however, he hid his worries from the people he was closest to as his problems only began to build.
