Stage

A kind-hearted Skywing who joined the army, patrolling the Kingdom's borders and fighting in skirmishes with neighboring tribes. After some time he met Peru, a fiery and ambitious Skywing, and fell in love with her. Peru soared up the ranks of the army, but Ferrum lacked the skills to keep up with her. Soon it became apparent that they couldn't continue their relationship. Peru wanted to continue in secret, and Ferrum agreed to the plan. For years, they maintained a hidden relationship.

Despite his kindness, Ferrum was not weak. He was a strong fighter and quick on his feet, with just enough skill to survive his battles and enjoy the sunrise after battle. He was determined and had the willpower to stay positive in the most dire of situations. His spirit encouraged many of his fellow soldiers to keep fighting for a better day.

But the sun must set eventually. A darkness seemed to loom over Ferrum when Peru told him the news - he was going to be a father. Since the news and the drama that followed it, Ferrum was sept separated from Peru. He could feel eyes on him for the weeks that followed. The soldier was constantly sent on patrol, unable to see his own eggs. Two, he heard, large and healthy eggs, safe in a nursery close to the palace. He heard they hatched into two bright, healthy, strong dragonets. Despite the eyes watching him, the dread creeping in his stomach, Ferrum felt nothing but pride for his children.

Ferrum saw his partner Peru once again in the same fashion they first met - stumbling upon each other in the battlefield, facing off Sandwings in a border skirmish. She looked tired, but happy to see him again. But there was no time to catch up. In the heat of battle, large wings blocked the sun behind him. Ferrum was grabbed from behind - he heard a sharp hiss, smelled smoky breath, and felt sharp claws across his throat. The soldier fell silently onto the dirt.
