Mirabeth grew up poor in the countryside about 40 miles from Angrunia, and her family would visit town every month to sell their crops. She loved the ocean and begged her parents to let her stay the entire day, but they usually returned home after a few hours of walking around and selling at the market. When she was 10 her grandparents moved to the port, and she got to spend summers with them when she wasn't in school. She didn't have plans to pursue a higher education after high school and continue working on the farm with her parents, but her grandparents unfortunately passed away near her 16th birthday. However, they left her a large sum of money in their will, and she used it to pursue college and get a degree in business, opening her café a few years later in the house her grandparents had lived in.

After the death of their parents, Sirius promised himself that he would support Luna's newfound powers however he could. However, they were incredibly tight on money and he regretably sent her to a boarding school so she could better hone her skills and he could focus on providing for the entire family. Their relationship has still been strong, and they send eachother letters every week to keep eachother updated, and every message he gets from her he pins to a corkboard above his desk. However, they slowed as she grew older, and he's gotten less and less every year.
Sirius has always had a somewhat strained relationship with Apollo, although it has been mended over the years. Apollo didn't like how often Sirius was away working and, not understanding the situation they were in, blamed him for Luna's lack of communication and the rift forming in their family. Now after Luna left college, they began fixing their relationship, although Apollo has never fully forgiven him for everything.
Sirius and Eris were the only two that really knew the extend of the problems they were in after their parents deaths, although Sirius wished that Eris hadn't learned until they were older. Even with their lack of finances, Sirius supported Eris's artistic ventures and helped set up shops for it's clothes. Once Eris had made a name for themselves in the fashion industry, it dedicated half of their finances to Sirius so he could support Apollo and Luna, and in return Sirius provided familial support and love. Their relationship has been strong ever since.
Sirius understands the difficulties of having to provide for family in a world that despised the outcasts, and when he met Lee he understood all of his actions. They bonded over the hardships they had been through, and Sirius was the one who gave Lee his blessing to marry Luna as the closest thing to her parental figure.
