As an akh, his strength is directly tied to the commemoration of his name and the upkeep of his tomb: the better the two are taken care of, the more powerful he becomes. Spirits of his kind are gifted with the usual powers attributed to ghosts, but there are a few bonus elements.

In addition, there are two classes of akh: those that are divine (i.e. deified after death) and those that are not. The main difference between them is an affinity for magic, particularly that of Osiris's, that can be channeled through weaponry or the user's body. This ability draws energy from the person's Ka (life energy) and can be replenished daily through the practice of eating and drinking.

A God's Favor

His most unique ability is that of luck manipulation through blessings and curses. This can demonstrate itself in multiple ways, from touch and incantations to even physical manifestations in the form of animals or intricate amulets. However, he is very reluctant when it comes to using this ability and thus rarely puts it to practice; no one gets anything unless he believes it'll benefit him in some way. In addition, this ability can be used on anyone but himself.

Ka Extraction

This goes hand-in-hand with the fact that he needs sustenance in order to keep his soul strong. By using this, he can eat the Ka of foods and even gain nourishment from texts or images that portray a meal. When this ability is in effect, a clone will be produced from the object he's handling. It can be applied to any object, but it does not affect living organisms.

He can also take his own Ka and infuse objects with it, namely shabti. There is technically no limit to how many he can create in total, but there is a limit on how much he can create at a time. Since each figurine has a sliver of his life-force, overexerting this power will cause him to slowly fade away until he can replenish his energy. Each shabti has a pre-determined job upon creation and they are unable to deviate from the task they were made for. When activated, they look and feel human but they cannot speak.

Gate to the Underworld

This ability is limited to only Ka doors: direct gateways to and from the Duat. In order to create one, he has to have already visited the area before carving, building or drawing the door on a relatively flat surface. Messing with the hieroglyphs inscribed is a sure-fire way to render the portal useless.

Shapeshifting

The most self-explanatory, he can take on the characteristics of anything for his own enjoyment or for the purpose of visiting earth. He mainly uses this to modify his appearance so that he can blend in with the living, but there are instances where he'll transform into a gruesome shadowy figure for the purpose of deterring modern tomb robbers.

• He goes by just Asar in the over-world and even has a fake backstory planned. If asked, he'll say he's from a small village steeped in old traditions and that the inhabitants have since died out due to the youth leaving for better work. The settlement would be called Set Adjah, which literally translates to "False Place" in Ancient Egyptian
• His body temperature tends to be unstable when in the land of the living; like a corpse, it mimics his surroundings
• He's capable of holding lengthy conversations in both Egyptian Arabic and Ancient Egyptian, and he's currently teaching himself Egyptian Sign Language (ESL) and English. His English is much stronger than his ESL but it isn't without its faults: he is fluent but has trouble reading and writing
• He gestures when he talks but only with his right hand, never the left. The latter is usually reserved for handling things he considers "unclean"
• When walking, he carries himself with dignity: head held up high, straight posture, and long strides with his hands either clasped firmly behind his back or by his sides
• Very demonstrative with those he's romantically interested in: his love language is receiving words of affirmation, but he enjoys giving gifts to those he loves
• In addition, he has a high preference for older women or just older individuals in general
• He's both polygamous and polyamorous!
• Although rare, when angered he'll start to cry
• He smells fragrant, like a freshly stuffed mummy. Specifically, he smells of myrrh and lavender with a hint of cinnamon
