Oliver used to have a lot of respect for Karin. Bright, ambitious, poised, and powerful. But a lot had changed as he became wise to her motives. Selfish, power-hungry, sociopathic, and manipulative. She never was content with what she had, always eager to claw her way to gain power, making deals and pacts with no intention of upholding it. A woman with no integrity or ideals. A coward afraid of death. He's done his best to distance himself from Karin over the years, although Finch convinced him to allow their youngest daughter to study under her. If Karin ever attempts to put his family in danger simply to feed into her own gluttonous path for power, he would not hesitate finishing what he hesitated to finish all those years ago.
The relatively new-coming paladin is nearly everything Karin hates. A man rooted in self-denial, respect for tradition, and reverence to the gods, few clash worse in the motley crew than these two. Karin could bicker and bluster with the giant for hours, but in the end she's seen that he's not a simpleton. Karin's trust has disappeared over time, as her fear of the 'paladin' has grown. One wrong move while within reach of his lance and it might just be the end.
Robin is Oliver's little pumpkin. The baby of the family. The adorable little rascal whose mischief always brings a smile to his face. Unlike her elder siblings, she's not afraid to stand up for herself and act, and was the only child that really connected to his Nightmare steed, Fleshrender. As the black sheep of the family, she surprised both parents with her amazing intellect; something neither parent even had any potential for. Every day she accomplishes something new and astounding, and every single one is a heart warming and welcome surprise.
Despite their differences, Robin has always been quite close to their father, though the two certainly don’t express it in the same clingy, gross sentimental way her older sister seems to. Besides her equine friend, he’s always been the one she’s gone to to talk growing up. She does recognize and loathe his dishonesty, finding it frustrating how much he chooses to simply disregard and smile through in denial. Still, she’s determined to better understand her father, especially since he seems to be the one person in her family who has always shown her the most acceptance.
Oliver never thought much of Finch or anyone before she began to reach out to him. His life was very bleak with no concept of a worthwhile future. But in their adventures, she gave Oliver something worthwhile to fight and live for, and after their campaign to save the continent ended, she gave him the greatest gift of all: a family. Now the proud father of three wonderful children, he re-established his Oath as a Paladin from one of empty Vengeance to that of Devotion; a devotion to protect his family. There's nothing Finch's bright smile can't fix, and only recently has the darkness in his heart has begun to fade away.
When Finch was first introduced to Oliver, she found him rather intimidating and frightening, mostly due to him being frustrated at her after she accidentally cast a spell of moonbeam down on him. However, as the two got to know each other over the course of their adventures, Finch developed a crush on Oliver, and after a month of forward affections and inviting herself into his home, her feelings were returned.
Years later, Finch is now Oliver’s wife and the mother of his children. Clingy as she is, much of the time Finch clings to his side or climbs up on his shoulder, smothering her paladin in adoration. Though it may seem like Oliver is babysitting frequently, given Finch’s childish nature, she is happy to and often does help him in her own ways, and will drop everything to support him.
Faith is Oliver's little angel. With the voice of a siren and a heart of gold, he has been immensely proud of his first born. There is absolutely no way Faith could do any wrongdoing or be anything less than 100% pure and innocent. Not a moment goes by that he doesn't brag or praise his little angel, unaware of how it inadvertently affects the other kids. While he was unable to survive in high society as a paladin, his daughter succeeds. He'd do anything to protect her. From danger, disease, and most importantly: boys.
Faith thinks the world of her father, and after being spoiled and treated like a princess by him all her childhood, she desperately wants to make him proud. To Faith, her daddy is a hero, and she’s one of the only ones in the family completely oblivious to his dark secrets and denial. She’ll do just about anything to impress her father, which might be why she keeps fairly tight-lipped about the more provocative details of her business and social life.
