Contracts:
Lisette, also known as Lady Lilith, is the one that offers Contracts to children in need of more power.
Only those under the age of 18 can be offered a contract. After they reach 18, their contract "expires".
Children with an active contract with Lilith are called Lilin, or sometimes just Contractors.
Lilin are granted the ability to use magic in exchange for their own life once the contract ends. The specifics of their contract and abilities vary from person to person.
Entering into a contract is one of only two ways to gain the ability to use magic as a human - the other is by finding a (rare) magic item and utilizing that.
Notes:
Not much is known about Lilith, aside from rumors, including her appearance. As such, whenever someone meets "Lisette", they generally assume she's a Contractor, not realizing the truth.
Lisette's true age is unknown. Appearance-wise, she looked like an older teen, though she likely alters her appearance using magic.
